Im in the same boat...

Im getting 40mpg in the Passat whereas the Ibiza was over 55mpg most days... It soon adds up.

I know exactly what you mean. I average around 500 miles a week and it makes quite a difference, especially with fuel prices rising (and they're only ever going to continue so).

We've decided to start looking for a change of car for the Mrs. She's got a 2000 Focus 1.8 at the moment, thinking of changing that for a slightly newer Focus estate TDCI (still the last shape though). That way we still have something with some space for housey stuff and will be handy for when we have kids which probably won't be that far down the line. Won't break the bank either.

Sisson - I know its totally off topic but you're the guy that has the passat lowered on Merc Rims aren't you? Cos you had a Mondeo but got rid of it for the passat right?

I saw a Passat estate slammed on Merc rims when I was up Sheffield/Rotherham way. Could've sworn it was yours but you're from Derby.

How's your doing these days Niall - how many miles (or kms) has yours covered now ?

Seems a long time since you, me and Nic (cheshire cat) were waiting for ours to be made at the factory...

Still running wel, done 151k km so far. Only problem that i have got of late is that the cat is full of soot, so i'll be getting a de-cat pipe soon.
Been round the nurburgring quite a few time with it and it's still holding up to the abuse. Seems to be everybody is coming bacjk to the fold: You, mrcoyote, toxxin :funk:

Point one it's cheap motoring and quite reliable for a Seat

That's somewhere over 90k miles isn't it. Similar to mine (mine would have been on ~140k miles or ~225k km if I hadn't had a 2 year break from it!!).
Good to hear it's still holding out.

Yeah about 90k, Just the suspension seems to wear out quickly on these cars. Next upgrade will be some new shocks me thinks

Quite funny really buying your old car back :D

It could have been me, but im back on standard wheels and suspension now, the wheels were killing my MPG and the ride was mega harsh!

I really like the Passat, is does everything i need but i really miss my old Ibiza, i should never have sold it...

Ive not even seen it once on the roads, I wish i could buy it back.

Well this was....two weeks ago I think. I think it was a light blue/silver iirc. And like I say - slammed on Merc rims like you had and had tinted windows. :)
