this is my last ditch attempt to try and get hold of a code for my Leon Stereo (Aura v4). We've got it out of safe mode, so just the code is needed an i'll be away.

If all else fails, i'll have to get ripped off by a local de-coding person (or whatever you would call them) by around £20-25

Can anyone help, PLEEASSSEEE???

Ta, Hayley ;)

I've recently seen the software available on the internet. You need the serial number of the headunit, you type it in to the software and it tells you the code. Whether it works or not I dont know but might be worth a try

I did see something like that, but I was a bit dodgy about downloading the software just incase it contained all sorts of rubbish. Do you know of any safe ones? I dont want my PC bunged up. Ta.

Ive just found the 'mybittorrent' one, but cant work out what on earth im meant to do. Clicked download, but the icon on my PC did nothing. There were some boxes to tick, but I didnt know what any of them meant. I dont do techy stuff like that, its all jargon to me lol.

You'll need a client to download any torrent files, utorrent is one of the most popular available. Once you have downloaded and installed the client, when you click on a torrent file it will open the client and connect to the peers (people who have the file) to download the file

why not try and give your local dealer a ring?

Hi. I wont go into it all again cos everyone is probably bored of it now. But there is a thread a bit further back I started trying to find out where to get it done, and i've just hit brick walls.

I'll see if I can work out that 'client' thing. I hate going into the unknown lol.

Progress!! I've managed to download both. What do I do next? When I click to open the file its suggesting I use 'Audio Central'? Stumped

If you installed utorrent and clicked on the link on mybittorrent it should have opened up in utorrent, if it didnt and gave you a Open With dialogue box you just need to select utorrent. If it's not in the list, browse for the file and you should find in C:\Program Files\uTorrent if you selected the defaults

Im completely confused, sorry! Its in the uTorrent Window as downloaded 100%, but when I click to open its just opening with Audio Central but of course that isnt doing anything.

Win wot??

I think this is all above me im affraid. If only it was easier. Think I can see a big fat rip off coming up, otherwise i'll be stuck with no sounds forever :(

depending how much they rip you off, there are some fairly decent deals on at the mo for after markets cd players!!

Jimski

I've downloaded that WinRar thingy, but havent a clue what im supposed to be doing with it. This is all WAY over my head :(

Can't you get your radio code with VAG COM?

One of the guys at work was showing me how to use it the other day and I'm pretty sure you can find your radio code on there, and you can disable the need to enter it every time you disconnect the battery too...

For all the hassle is it not worth just paying out the 20 odd quid?

I am starting to think the same! Though all the people we have spoken to havent been confident they will have the code (?) so if I get them out, will I still get charged part or all of the money even if they cant do it?

I dont know anyone who has it unfortunately.

Funnily enough Hubby went to the local VW/Audi garage earlier for another reason, and mentioned our code problem to the guy. However he didnt say he could get it on VAG-Com. He just suggested that some times the numbers printed on the side of the radio contain the code, so he's told us to try that.

If all else fails, think im going to have to risk paying someone in the hope they can do it for me, cos im starting to get really cheesed off!
