Brake Light Failing

My driver side brake light has been really intermittant of late, have changed the bulb three times, but it's now not worked for over two weeks. I've tried giving it a bash, which worked on occassion, but not this time.

Are they known for wiring faults? What can i do about this? I can't afford to take it too Seat, my mate has run his code reader, nothing comes up

My MOT is in 3 weeks

Check the metal contacts on the bulb holder and see if they are corroded or need a clean. A bulb change 3 times would indicate a fault on the circuit, contact, earth etc...

I had it serviced by a mate last night, he changed the bulb as the filament almost looked like it was melting, and checked the holder and connectors etc but everything looked fine

check the bit the bulb sits in.... mine was bent slightly .... with a bit of fiddling it held the bulb better.
