re: overlapping wiper blade & cutting etc...

wiperblades.co.uk have the mk4 golf flat blade standards at drivers 21" and passenger 19".
opting for those blades with the golf mk4 arms should mean there is no cutting involved... *i think*

i'll give that guide a go soon... if i feel brave enough.. thanks Pabs!

Speaking to VW direct they do a shorter version which ends in a 5 rather than 6. So no need to cut one down.

Can get the full number if anyone needs

How much discount do you get? I have uk-mkivs membership, not that I go on there much mind

Not sure if it's a flat rate on everything, or variable depending on the item... on the wipers & arms it works out at 8%, so £57.15 inc. VAT (+ p&p)

1J2 955 425 A ?

do you know how much shorter it is?

If I remember I will try to measure them.

But I took it out of the box and it looked pretty much the same length as the standard passenger one.

I think the code is 1J2 955 425B

Think the A has now been replaced with B. Not sure they are any different now though

guys - the link I provided was literally for a how to and for part numbers...

Prices change daily/weekly - and the guide is probably close to 1-2years old now, so ignore the prices!

The were pretty close to the prices I got quoted today. Don't think they change too often.

The part numbers have changed slightly, like A to B but VW will be able to tell you which part replaced the one you are after

Does anyone know if the TT aero wipers will fit the Leon as I have a pair in the garage and I know they are a pain to get off to try.

thanks

I've been quite happy with the retrofit aeros compared to the originals and didn't find them too much of a hassle to fix to the arms. Personally I wouldn't pay extra to change the arms when the originals haven't caused me any probs.

In saying that though I did change my rear wiper arm - but the original wiper performance was just shocking!

I bought some retro fit aero blades, and I have had no problems at all. For the passenger side, I just got an inch shorter so it fits nicely. So far I have no reason to change the arms and blades. They shift water very nicely and stick to the screen well. The only downside, if I was to be really pedantic, is that the standard arms stick up a bit and could be more flush to the windscreen I suppose. Purely cosmetic preference.

The rear wiper arm however I have replaced because, as said above, it was shocking and just skipped across the screen. Now it's smooth as!

I recently replaced my rear wiper with a Fabia one, there is such a difference!!

Ordered the Bosch Aero ones last night so I'll have to wait and see how they perform tomorrow hopefully

What about the mk4 ibiza facelift ibiza areo wiper arms?, i dont think there any bigger or shorter than the mk1 leon arms. Ive had the ibiza wiper arms of in my work and place them roughly on my leon. They are more or less the same length
