Yes you have to take it all out, column pedal the lot to do the best job, however if you or someone you know is very handy with a welder and not bother about tight spaces you can do it in place. Just remember there is a lot of sound proofing and insulation in that area as well as the main electrics for the car, so small fires from welding aren't advised.

my clutch is making a noise when i release it now, i noticed a squeek a while ago and its got worse, just clicked on what it might be... still not sure if its the pedal box or the clutch that has gone or should i say going...

makes a squeeking noise only when you release the clutch really, any ideas what it is guys?

Your best bet would be to take the drivers side glovebox off and have a look at the pedal box assembly. You WILL notice if it is broken in anyway.

just rememberd this happened to my dads cavalier last year, he took it to our local garage and they just welded it back together... think this would be okay? or with the ibiza clutches being so heavy just getting another box incase it snapes the welds again?

I have a bit of metal missing from mine but the pedal box is fine. I have an m8/m10/m12 high tensile (strength) bolt going through mine and it was welded back up aswell. Had it like that for nearly 2 years and its still fine.

Maybe worth changing ur clutch and/or cable.
