My trim is a faded black and no matter how much back to black is applied is always looks weathered. Has anyone had the trim spayed either black or colour coded or know of this looking any good. So far i have only seen the white and black seem to be pulling it of.

i dont like colour coded trim i personally thinks look better black... get some matt or satin black and paint them but make sure you get some paint thinners and clean them down so paint sticks mind

Well if you mean the splitter and skirts I'd just leave them really.
I think the skirts look good body coloured on some colour cars. From looking at my red 1.4 I think that the black offsets it well (though you say yours is faded a lot). As for the splitter painted will just get chipped and scuffed so you'll be shelling out getting it painted regularly.
The plan for my Gti is colour coded skirts when I have my respray but leaving the splitter well alone

They will do, but you will need to re-wire then a but I think (thats if your current lights are twin filament H7's as on my 1.4 as the Gti headlights are twin H1's).
If I were you Id save my money and upgrade to a set of H7 HID's as Cruiser has. Check his thread out and look at the difference

Colour coding rocks !! & so does beating a golf in a drag race.

Yeah i did mean the skirts and that but you seem to have concluded in my absence. Was thinking the the rear black strip, skirts and splitter need something, i dont mean changing the front grills. Anyone updated there skirts and splitter with a fresh coat of black?

some people leave the front splitter out as it gets caught on kerbs parking alot.

with the my white one i tend to touch it up with tipex.

I think the skirts always look nice but just dont know how i feel about the lower part of the bumper. I guess it is a splitter but mine is so cheap and has those gash recesses that for some reason only two are cut out. Would be nice to see someone who has a red beeza but the black grills.

I had seen one which had all black sprayed red. Me not like

It's Craig btw. Yep Hid's are definetely the way forward. Altho the bulbs in my 1.4 are H4. But I got a hi/low kit, hid low beam and halogen high beam.
