it's now at nandos house, and he guarentees it'll be started by sunday, so i've left him to it

Hi to all! I'll update this for Chris. It took all of 2 mins to see what had gone wrong. In the moving of the battery the M/S earth wire got lost and some how ended up on the starter motor?

Ed(Toyotec) came and took the M/S back to the lab to check it over, turns out its ok which goes to show that a Ed(Toyotec) M/S ECU will take. With the M/S back in the car I sorted the earth out and also fitted the fuel pump wire which was cut to bits and looked like this!?

seat015.jpg

With everything back to how it should be it wouldn't turn over[:@] seemed like the starter motor wasn't getting the amps it needed so I bump started it and it runs:clap:

Will update more tomo.

I've found out what the starting issue was which is funny.
When the car came I spotted a big NO NO.

On a lowered car like this it wouldn't of taken long before the outer casing would of cut and shorted out to earth.

Used this baby

Then a thick rubber gromit.

And did the same again on the other side.

As I remove the power lead from the battery clamp I saw some green tape? Removed the tape to find the wires just pushed together? Not good! so sorted that out and it now starts a lot better:funk:

Still can't work out why strut bars only have 6mm holes and come with screws which brakes

So I drilled out the holes to 8mm and got a load of 8.8 M8 nuts, bolts and washers.

I don't know who did it for him put it's sorted now and safer. I think he needs to move the battery forward as its sitting right up on the rear panel, if he gets hit from behind the battery will make a b-line for the front screen and could hit him on the way.

to answer questions, a mate did the battery relocation wiring, and where those 2 ends met before, there was a fuse holder, after popping a fuse on attempting to start it i imagine SD just taped up the ends for a quick fix :rifle:

the charger pulley isnt standard, it's a 19% smaller pulley and i think the boost is around 8psi at the moment, mucho fun :D

very nice project.. i love it!

In GB you can legally drive so low?
In Germany you must have 50cm to the edge of the headlights....
When the police see that it is lower, they can shut down you car and take it to the "TÜV" station where experts look at it...

Because of that i buy an airride ;)
