Hey!

HID Kit. I've removed everything. Got the bulbs working by testing them, so I know I've wired them up correctly.

I've got the bulb in the "holder", but the bulb isn't secure in anyway. It just rattles around in the cage. I've not done any drilling - because I can't see where I'm meant to drill! Maybe this is my problem.

I've taken some pictures. I know the wires aren't connected to the ballast etc but I know how that's meant to be done.

Can someone please help!!!

your light bulb doesnt seem to be ditting flush in the holding, keep turning it till it sits flush, you can tell when it does, have you also made sure you have the right bulbs, H7 ??

The light bulb isn't sitting flush at all. It just rocks and move in the metal "cradle".

I ordered H7's...will check...

if they are H7, you must be fitting them wrong lol :p, if there are not H7, theres your answer lol

They are H7's. It feels almost like the bulb is too long.

Is there a picture somewhere of the part I'm meant to drill? Cos, from what I could see, I didn't have the part it told me to drill ...

the plastic case you take off to gain access to the bulbs, you drill through that to let the wires through ;)

Ah!!! I understand that bit now.

These bulbs still don't fit though. And now I've temp. lost the tiny metal securing cradle on one side. GRRRR. Getting the point where I might get some black tape out and stick them in!

its hard to see with the photos but it looks like they may need rotating counter clockwise by about 90'. and the bulb holder clip looks different to mine. have you taken it off at any stage. if so is it on the right way round? and brad1 is correct, they only drilling you should have heard about is the water tight plastic back of the headlight unit that you would take off with the two metal clips on either side to change a bulb as normal. but that wouldnt affect the bulb fitting. which kit did you get and does the roundish plate on the back of the bulb look the same as if it were a normal one?

It has been taken off, and therefore could quite possibly be on the wrong way round. Not that it matters at the moment - AS I'VE BLOODY LOST IT! [:@]

Diane Kit. The plate at the back does look different, it has a "notch" in the backing. Like a simple screw. A simple example would be the sticking out bit on the battery compartment removal plastic, cept I presume that this part needs to be clockwise/counter clockwise to secure.

There are is a tab on the bulb holder (part of the hid bulb) rotate the bulb until it sits flush in a slot on the cars headlight. Can't remember if the tab is north or south you should see it looking in.

Take the plastic covers off the wires, can just about squeeze them through, handy to keep to put your old h7 bulbs in.

Find that metal clip pronto. It is not easy to get another and some dealers have quoted a whole headlight just to get a clip.

Yup - the clip was the problem. Took the clip from the other side and fitted it and now all is hunky dory! Just find myself a couple of pictures on here of where to put the ballast and i'll be done.

Apart from the fact, I have really lost the other clip. I can slowly feel my blood pressure rising.

WHERE THE HELL IS THAT CLIP!!!

Put the ballasts any where as long as they are secure.
My N/S on is on the tray under the headlight and my O/S is tucked under the light.

Drivers Side all done. Ballast screwed on near Washer Bottle.

Passenger Side - no bulb. I can't find that clip anywhere. Gona have to start to try and find a new one.

Is it me or do you also have the metal securing clip back to front...?

Have you found the clip?

If it down the O/S I'd be finding it as you don't want that getting caught up in the aux belt :)

Not found the clip. Highly annoying - but ringer is going to send me one as his headlight unit has gone.

Already driven the car, and nothing caught up in it so far. Have spent 2+ hours looking for it around the engine and house and not found it.
