Engine transplants

iv had a look around the site and noticed quite a few people are doin transplants iv seen vr6's an r32 and a few others even seen one in a mag with an s3 engine in just thinkin would a leon cupra r engine fit?

The engine would probably squeeze in, its the gearbox that wouldn't

s3, leon R's etc are all 1.8T's unless youre talking about the brand new ones.
the 1.8T will fit in no probs, and use the 02J or 02A gearbox and youll have no problems either

is the seat 1.8t front wheel drive? think it is..... if so then the lcr 1.8t will go straight in, think its same subframe.....dont quote me on that though

Yes they are FWD, but an LCR subframe is nothing like a mk2 1.4 subframe lol

no but its a golf subframe isnt it.....and u can put a 1.8t from the golf 4 into a golf 3....and they arre the same engine...just the lcr is a bigger turbo with bit more tuning so should be same installation i would have thought

depends what the base car is. 2l 16v and your laughing cos they have the same subframe as a mk3 ibiza, mk3 ibiza comes with a 1.8T and so its bound to fit.
With the right mounts the 1.8T will go in
1.4 subframe is different and so will need replacing with that from a 2l 16v, or mk3 ibiza cupra.

If you are going to do a 1.8 20v T conversion you are aswell trying to get the whole car so you can take everything you need from it. Subframes etc.

would have thought that a 2.0TFSI mounts similarly to a 1.8T lump to be honest

1.8Ts are overdone now though, valvers and VR's are the new black

If the 1.4 subframeis the same as a mk2 golf then you an still use it to mount the 20v engine,or like said you can use a mk2 16v or a mk3 ibiza subframe (might have to cut off the 2 rear brackets)
Not hard to mount it at all.
