strut brace any good?

thinking of getting a strut brace for my tdi fr, has anyone got one fitted to this vehicle?

and what can i be looking at gaining if anything from this fitted?

hi mate i got a seat sport strut brace and yer it did feel a bit better at handing, and it looks grate in the engine bay oh mines for the 1.8 T http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEAT-SPORT-ST...14&_trkparms=72:1683|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

You just have to undo 2 strut bolts on either side (and remove the vacuum box on the TDIs), then put the brace in place and do the bolts back up (along with vacuum box). It can be quite a tight fit so go round and tighten each bolt up gradually rather than doing one side then the other.

yep its worth it imo, helps cut down understeer on turn in and looks awesome. easy to fit 15mins tops

OMP do one for the mk4 ibiza too, Kris.

And the OMP one requires you to remove all three strut top bolts.

I had a OMP one but sold it after a few months and now have a Seat Sport one.

OMP strut brace

i got the OMP variant, preffered a strut brace with the tension adjuster
the sellar on ebay (IIRC, strutbracer.co.uk) also sells the lower strut brace as a kit for the 2 braces ~£60 - 70

be warned that although they say delivery within a week, expect it at least 2 weeks if not 3from point of order
they are just a UK distributor and just import to order from OMP (in italy IIRC) where they are based.
i had to wait 3 - 4 weeks i think , they were out of stock of one of them at point of order and had to wait for one to be manufactured

good qaulity strut braces though, does a great job of stiffening the front end

Different cars i know but my omp strut improved the handling quite a bit. Specially with the coilovers on to.

Yea, I meant there isn't a difference between TDI and petrol ones
