common fuel leaks

well iv bought my 1.6 sport about 3 weeks ago

and i ran out of fuel not long back due to a dodgey sensor which i will sort soon

now my cars leaves a strong smell of petrol so i wounded were the common fuel leaks are for me to have a look around

and just to be sure im gettin the car vag com'd on wednesday night

Mine leaks out of the big seal on the top of the tank underneath the back seat, but only when I have a full tank!

i checkd round there but i can't smell it in the car anymore its just outside when iv parked up or sat there with it on tick over

Fuel filter seen lots of these rusted through and leaking one on a 2005 car the other day! Although it could be alot of things fuel lines, injectors, fuel rail etc. any poor running?

fuel filter is a common issue on leons.. so if they are similair on the ibiza id check that.

On the leon its located under the car in front of the offside rear wheel and looks like a can ( as in baked beans etc)

nope starts fine

check inlet manifold for leaks

okat but the smell is coming more from the rear of the car but due to the weather i havent had chance to have a look yet

look under your back seats under the flap in the carpet

Have you checked your fuel filter yet? I would change it out what ever you find as they are only about £5...

nope starts fine

I some times do have to rev it a few times!
