Green filters tend to be filter of choice, they don't seem to kill MAF's . Got one in mine purely for the serviceability side of things.

I have Green cotton filter at the moment but its an oiled filter which can damage the MAF with residue from the oil. Spoke to AMD and on Saturday next week its in for its 80k service, Milltek downpipe/cat replacement, and (on their advice) a swap of filter to a Pipercross as they are layered foam and dry - ie not oiled.

The Green filter made a noticable difference over the almost new paper one that it had before.

Always had K&Ns and never had a problem, 57i kit on the current vehicle not a panel filter - sounds pretty funky too!

Pipercross are oiled I've had one and they give you a small spray can of oil for after you have cleaned it.

there must be two types as the Pipercross i have is dry. also stated on the box and did not come with any oil.

afaik AMD only supply the dry type

Might have issues with oil and MAF though if you use too much. Oil is only to catch the tiny, tiny particles that can get through the paper/cotton element anyway, so nothing to worry about.
