My Autometer boost gauge (Phantom 5703) is not reading 0 when engine off (-4/-5).

Can it be serviced? / Reset.

I thought it was only suppose to be a "vacuum" when the engine is idling. The reason I ask is I’m sure my readings on my gauge seem lower all of a sudden ~ no loss in power , vag com reports original readings.

Checked hose for kinks and everything seems fine. I am wondering whether I should take the gauge out and see what it reads on ambient pressure (without tubing in place) ?

how old is the gauge? sounds to me like its packing up .with the engine off they should always go back to zero.
on the back of the gauge .check the inlet nipple. if its loose or twisted this will cause false readings.
but for sake of £28 ish change the gauge, and see where you are then!! cheers

It was bought in 2006.... Ive takent the gauge out and seen that without the pipe its still on -5 ~ i can only think that its b*ggered. So a replacement it is! however autometer ones are 68 quid each. ouch

A lot of people use the one from Halfords it's only £25 and it matches the LCR white dials nicely, otherwise go for a smoked one off ebay for about the same money
