go on ebay and get some KINGAVON PEEL AND STICK LED TOUCH LIGHT SET ;) £3.99 and then you don't have to sort wires and things out

As Aimes said, or an LED torch and a bit of sticky velcro so you know where it will be, this way you can use it in the dark to change a flat tyre too. No boot light is that good :p

I'm pretty sure mine has a boot light too, although it only works off the tailgate switch!!??

mk4 bootlight

My 54 plate cupra has neither a boot or a glovebox light..

if the top of the range one doesn't, we're all stuck unless newer variants have!!:(

Thanks Deano, with a wire direct to earth lamp shine brightly, but where is the switch?if i earth it in this way the light will stay on indefinitely??(unless the switch is somehow incorporated in theboot lock??)

I THINK the switch is incorporated in to the slam plate at the bottom. Try removing the trim on the rear boot face and see where the wire attaches.

the switch is built into the lock. there is nothing under that panel in the boot except 2 vent (and some towbar wiring in mine).

if you run a earth direct from the lamp it will not be on all the time as iirc its the live that is switched not the earth.

I split off the 12v supply from my amp using a distribution block and then sent the supply to a mercury switch which I fitted in between the skins in the boot lid. Then sent the output to a neon which of course is earthed. When the boot lid goes up the mercury sensor sends 12v to the neons and hey presto, light with no switches, drilling etc. Mercury sensors are cheap too. Hope that helps

That is genius! I've been fiddling about for ages trying to work out a good way of lighting up the boot. I may just have to steal your idea!

i know this thread is for ibiza's but i cant find any for leons. i have a leon cupra r 04 and the courtesy light in the boot doesnt work, it has an earth but no live is going to it. i had the problem where the rear washer was moving with the near wiper which i have now fixed but i herd that if that was left for too long it could cause problems with the locking mechanism, could this have caused a problem with the switch for the boot light? any other ideas i would be most greatful?

My 06 1.4 Sport pre-facelift has a boot light but it's never once worked haha! I think the bulb might have gone tbh.

Btw... where's this small panel you pop out in the glove box? Not a clue where that is :s, I'd like to put one in. I have seen the parts and it only costs a few quid.
