Hi guys, got a problem with the old radio. It got locked to SAFE 2 so i took it down to Perrys Ayelsbury and got a code of em for £27.60!!!! The code works but only unlocks the radio to SAFE 1 at which point i have no code to completely unlock the radio. Am i doing something wrong or do i have to fork out for another code? Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially from someone who works at SEAT ;)

I would take it back for £27 quid id expect it working not in safe 1. Have you got the handbook. Might be worth a flick through I think my code is written in there you never know.

FFS, why did you pay £27 for it still not to work? (sweearing at the dealer, not you!) Get back down there, wave your receipt around and complain until they've unlocked it properly!!!

Did they hook the car up to the machine?
Or did they just get it of the registration?
If the later, and you have a different head unit in there from the one it came with, the code will be useless.

wasnt there when they did it but it unlocked the radio from SAFE 2 to SAFE 1 where its at now. so im not sure but i will be giving em an earful when i call em [:@]

safe 2 to safe 1 is nothing mate, it's just an indication they have put in the code once of the two chances you get.
Then you have to leave the radio on for 1 hour to reset it, so you get the two chances again.

okay but why does the code unlock the radio to SAFE 1 but if i type the same code in again it locks it back to SAFE 2?

safe 1 means you've incorrectly entered the code once, safe 2 means you've put it in twice wrong and this is the point it can take a while (1 hour of stereo being on) to be able to re-input the code. Basically you have the wrong code.

HI pull the head unit out read the number sez........... is allways 14 pole long and PM to me i will check the pin for you.
If the radio is in safe 2 wait for 40 min with ignition on then enter the coode and confirm it as described in you owners manual.

I use the left and right arrows, and a press of program and its in - get the dealer to sort it, you'vwe paid for a service which they need to deal with.

I LOVE YOU!!!! IT WORKS NOW :funk: Tried this after unlocking radio to SAFE 1 and it worked:redface::doh: Partially my fault and partially stealers for not telling me what to do when i got to SAFE 1. Thanks for the help mate;)

Also big thank you to all the guys for the advice they gave. it was all very good and would normally work if i wasnt such an idiot :p
