Fuel on empty but no warning light???

Hi,
new problem, Fuel down to empty, well in to the red, computer reading Zero miles left in tank.
But no warning light coming on? A bit worried as I'm sure I've seen it on once before,
Any ideas would be of interest??
My golf has no warning light at all but don't want to have the same with the LC

You can get a fuel level reading with Vag-Com. Fairly accurate.

Still don't have that as yet, everything pointed to it being empty, any reason the light wouldn't come on?
Gauge working and trip too, do the sensors fial??

Is there meant to be an audible warning too?
When would this sound?? How low into the red?

My light used to come on with 25 mile remaining on the trip and it beeps yes.

i get the warning sound but no light, is that normal?

No! The light and beep will come on together as the needle hits the mark below a quarter.

There is 2 gallons of fuel left when the light and beeper come on.
