Light come on dash please help

I have a 2004 FR TDI, done 89,000 miles and it is due an oil and filter service.

Light came on yesterday lunch time in the rev limiter part of the dash

it flashes every second and is like half a coiled spring on it's side...
is it glowplug warning light?

you'll need it scanning you know anyone with vag com?

i once saw this lght come on a polo 1.4tdi and the it wouldnt start all the time this light was warning that a fualty crank sensor was on it way out,

so it needs scanning to see what fault there are

yes that is the glow plug light...have it scanned for errors with VAG-Com to make sure it is a glow plug

Have a look if you brake lights are working or stuck on - i'm sure that the glow plug light flashing has something to do with a faulty brake light switch.

it was indeed a faulty brake light switch

got it replaced today and fault code cleared
