hi mate have you watched the videos i posted up also in my youtube other videos., have you got what i have, like others are saying as little bit of water out exhaust isnt bad just condensation. mine was a little buy got worse over the months but im not running a cat neither, what turbo company you going yo use an you going to go hybrid as well?

Yes it is normal for turbo engines to drink a little oil

I had a Megane 225, 2.0T from new to 43k, never drank a drop of oil between services..

TBH mate, you're looking for a forum to diagnose your issues when we can't see/hear your car, and aren't exactly experts, only with issues we've experienced..

A good garage will diagnose for very little outlay and discuss the best options with you. If you walk into a garage saying 'this is my fault fix it' they will, even if thats not the actual cause. Slipping someone £10-20 to diagnose is a damn sight cheaper than paying someone to fix issue after issue that you've incorrectly self diagnosed..

Update

Right...

Its been back in for the MOT retest and passed through with out any further issues (thank god!) and l've also ran a compression test on the engine which gives the impression that everythings fine in that area. I'm also 110% certain its NOT the head gasket.....which is now leading me to think its gota be the turbo, especially as the once faint blue smoke has now started turning white/grey?

Spoken to a guy that Gavin's put me on to (cheers again buddy!) and its been booked in next weekend for him to take a look over it to figure out whats going on.

l'll keep you posted....

:(

Half hour later n im finished reading! Lol. Good input from everyone, cant beat SCN for solutions, how ever many there are! Just to throw a spanner int works. Oil... The 5w castrol stuff maybe good but since changing to 10w millers, she hasnt drank any.

Does it have a missfire? even a slight one?

Well I just read this thread and hope it's ok to ask,

My car has always had a very very slight judder which I can only equate to a misfire on idle, and it's particularly noticeable on idle after I've been for a drive. However wouldn't a failing coil pack have completely failed by now? I've owned it over a year and this mini judder has always been the same.

Thanks

Just searched and found good old SeatCupra.net
My 53 plate LCR has just started smoking, I'm in Derby so might give the guys at Turbo centre a call tomorrow.

Will let you know how I get on.

Thanks to all for posting....

Still having problems, everything that could have been tested has been and all diagnostics are coming back OK. it has been confirmed it is not 'Con Rods'

I have absolutely no idea what is wrong.

was it blue smoke? my revo needs setting up but getting a custom map put on ar wonder if this could be the problem as only does on idle.

I have had a tiny amount of blue smoke in the past mate yes, the time I had billowing white smoke was when the radiator fans failed to come on and the temp went up above norm abit, but replaced the switch straight away which solved the fans, compression test has shown up OK and recently had custom map which produced strong results and oil change to renew the potentially weakened oil that was caused by poor fuelling before, so I've discounted it.

Haven't read through all the thread but what have you found for sure that ISN'T the problem?

Blue smoke is oil in your combustion chamber mate, maybe weakened stem seals, usually caused by overfuelling. Many owners deem it an inevitability when mods are added, so maybe custom map is your best bet.

restricted turbo oil drain system?

had compression test results good, i not got revo set up because now fitted hybrid fueling all over the place. its only on idle which i dont understand as turbo was checked an given the green light, my temp gauge keeps going beetween 90 an 65 on normal driving??? think that could be part the problem

I think so mate yes, definitely shouldn't do that. Had any vag com tests done?

Changed your coolant temp sensor recently? iirc that actually affects fueling and could be the cause of your overfuelling (therefore small amount of blue smoke).

Right hand side of engine block mate as you look into it from the front, should be a green object held in by a U shaped clip. Make sure you do it when the engine is cold or hot coolant will spray everywhere lool

EDIT: Well that's where it is on my Cupra, not sure about the LCR?

ok mate will give it a go tomorro wanted to get car mapped as going to take few days. dont think temp should be going beetween 65 an 90 even if its cold.

thankyou

Yeah, definitely shouldn't do that mate, should stay at minimum for 5 minutes or so until it warms up, then go to centre mark and stay there. I know that the coolant temp sensor affects fueling as it's often the cause of people having running problems.

Since you've had the turbo and compression test checked, and the temp is all over the shop, it's worth a punt at least for a sensor that costs about £10.

Good luck mate
