Hi,
I'm having a problem with my Ibiza. When i remove the key from the ignition barrel the backlight for the LCD screen stays on, resulting in a dead battery. The only work around I've found is to pull the fuse for it. When you've spent cash on a 6 disc changer, its irritating you can't use it. Anyone else had this problem, or managed to solve it?

Cheers

cheers for replying, that didn't have any effect. i did search but nothing came up

sounds daft, tried turning the volume right down before you switch off or turn the radio off ?

some one may correct me if im wrong but there is a diode thats faulty which causes the lcd screen to come on there is a company that will do it i do belive

mine does it all the time.. ive just got into the habit of turning the radio off before i leave my car :)

I think your problem is different to mine, i can't turn the LED screen off at all, when i used to take the key out of the ignition, the outline of the car went away and the backlight turned off. Now the red backlight stays on with everything on the screen even when theres no key in the ignition.

So its fuse pulling for me :(

just a thought but surely if the 'remote on' wire was not connected properly would this mean it wont turn off, have a look at the sub and amp sticky it will show what wire im on about remember just a thought

Its a faulty diode in the headunit. Fit a switch in line with the fuse and mount it somewhere in the footwell, that way you dont have to remove the fuse every time

Hi just to let you know this can be repaired for £70.00. If you go on to ebay and search Seat Ibiza radio there is a guy in Scotland who does them. He just did my boys for him.

Hope that helps
