tdi engine cover

My cover vibrates against my strut brace. Tried using some single sided sticky foam, but it worked for about 3 days. So im just going to remove the cover. Does it serve a purpose? insulation or anything? Or is it purely for looks? I imagine it does damp noise slightly too.

So its ok to run car without engine cover?

The engine cover doesn`t do anything and newer versions of your car don`t come with one fitted. If you want to keep it on put foam pipe lagging on the strut brace.

I tried foam, but it pushed the engine cover off. Its coming off mate, cheers for advice .

it dampens the sound of the tractor noise

ive seen people trim the back end of cover away , which is what ilprob do
