I have a red ibiza 1.9TDI FR on a 54 plate, the painted trims on the outside of the 2 front doors and back quarters........

Are these standard painted because i have never seen another FR with painted door trims they are all black.

hmm i was thinking that, with me not seeing any others that are painted, do you know if it was an option when buying the car brand new?

lol, yeah local lad, i work for citroen too, so seat is a bit more involved as the reason im asking alot of questions lol

Where can you get them painted? And how much does it cost?

So interested.

You can paint them while they are on the car (not something I would do personally).

When you pull them off the car, they will stretch and bend so they can not be used again. So you will need new ones and I think I remember someone saying they are £25 for the full set. They are held on with strong tape and have mounting points to keep them straight.

So buy some new from the stealers, paint them yourself with rattle cans (seems a good enough finish tbh) and stick them back on.

The rough texture of the strips will need to be sanded down smooth. That can be done with some fine grit sand paper. Just prime them, spray them and stick them back on.

You could pay someone to do it at a bodyshop but, is it worth it? You can do it yourself and it would look fine. But you'd have to be good enough with a spray can.

I have a silver Ibiza and I want to do this.

Any guides or tips on how to get it done?

Never sprayed before so dont know all process to do this.

yeah he is right with that! DIY is the way i had a quote from a body shop of £150 to high build primer them and all sorts!

buy new side strips. sand the down, primer and wet and dry them yourself, this is what takes all the time, then take them to a body shop and if they charge you anything over £50 its a rip off lol.

then just remove yours yourself and stick the new ones on
