So how come my lcr rim is 1/2 wider than the starfish. Have they got the 7.5j measurement wrong on these also :cartman:

I agree... there is no way a manufacturer such as SEAT would put a 225 tyre on a 7inch wide rim...

It's worth noting the 16inch rims found on the pre facelift cupra are 7inch wide with 205 tyre...

I reckon 7.5 wide :)

OCD, can i put 215 tyre on standard pre facelift cupra alloy?

So, what we're saying in effect is that tramlining isn't caused by tires, its caused by the shocking state of the worn out british road system

I say make roads from concrete (like the older motorways), bloody noisey to drive on, but they don't wear down as quickly, so don't form bad "longitudinal ruts and/or grooves "

When I was working at an engineering company in the summer they were doing trials of concrete grooving on the A12S using this technology http://www.concut.co.uk/groove.html

The grooves drastically reduce noise and improve skid resistance. This could be the future for quiet good quality roads..
