Thinner Tyres Than OEM

So how come my lcr rim is 1/2 wider than the starfish. Have they got the 7.5j measurement wrong on these also

I agree... there is no way a manufacturer such as SEAT would put a 225 tyre on a 7inch wide rim...

It's worth noting the 16inch rims found on the pre facelift cupra are 7inch wide with 205 tyre...

I reckon 7.5 wide

OCD, can i put 215 tyre on standard pre facelift cupra alloy?

7" is ok for 225x45

215 will go from 7" to 8.5" rim, 225 from 7.5" to 9" rim

I am not sure how accurate this is though.

I say make roads from concrete (like the older motorways), bloody noisey to drive on, but they don't wear down as quickly, so don't form bad "longitudinal ruts and/or grooves "

When I was working at an engineering company in the summer they were doing trials of concrete grooving on the A12S using this technology http://www.concut.co.uk/groove.html

The grooves drastically reduce noise and improve skid resistance. This could be the future for quiet good quality roads..
