iv always had petrol performance cars and just bought the cupra tdi ibiza and am well impressed with it mid range is ace! just wana tune it abit but dont no wat to go for and where from?
Just registered so this is my first post here.
I'm new to SEAT ownership (In fact I don't quite own one yet) but yesterday I went out for a test drive in an Ibiza FR (130TDi) and fell in love immediately. So I've put down a deposit and pick it up next Saturday.
I wanted to post a pic but can't 'till I've made 15 posts.
Although I'm not as accustomed to performance hatch ownership as the lingl9z I do think that you wont be disappointed with it.
I managed to get the dealer down to £8145 for the one above with a part ex of £150 for my rusty old '94 Civic LSi with 90,000 miles on the clock and a missfire.
The Ibiza has got 20,800 miles on the clock and from the reserch I've done, it returns 50MPG's easily, it's in insurance group 8 (which is cheaper than my old Civic) and the performance figures are pretty impressive as standard @ 128Bhp with 229lb ft Torque.
Now I can't wait till next Saturday when I collect the car, begin enjoying ownership of my lil' Ibiza and becomin a part of the community here.
and with a quick remap thats up to around 175ish and 310lbft.
push the boat out and your looking at 240bhp and 380lbft

Remap from performance torque, its where im planning to go, and they seem to get alot of praise on here.
I got the diesel 160 about 6 months ago and I'm really liking it. The performance is fantastic standard, probably on par with your GTi, but after a remap, it is quite a bit quicker. 40-80 in 4th gear takes no time so it's perfect for overtaking. I came from a Clio 172 Cup and a 330ci and it's quicker than them.
Insurance is £200 for me, £120 tax, >40mpg = cheap to run!
Yeah thats very true, I seem to get a lot of people looking at the GTI-6 badges on the side of my car and then revving up at the traffic lights, I feel I'm past that stage, it's something I would have done when I was 17 maybe! I just need a comfy, reliable, reasonably fast and economical car (comapared to the 18mpg I get at the moment.)
The cupra tdi isnt comfy, the suspension is quite firm, and 40 profile tyres. The leon would be more up your street if you want comfort.
Cheers buddy what sort of price range are the early MK4's?
i would try get a facelift mk4 (late 56 i think)....a lot of people who have the pre-facelift on here and the cupra or fr bumpers..
can pick up a pre-facelift mk4 quite cheap now...depending on milage...i have seen tdi sports with good mileage for a few thousand...
what sort of budget you looking at?
