thats true the works fiesta van is an awesome little machine even though the dash shines on the windscreen in the sun dangerously with the heated screen.
your car does sound like a friday afternoon job though vibrating panels :wtf:.

all ibizas will have vibrating panels, the clips that are used are hard abs plastic which will not absorb any vibration caused from road grumble. You must not notice it, prob most people will not, i have to admit i am very fussy and like attension to detail ha ha

Best thing i did was remove all the interior and i replaced all the clips on the panels and fitted extra sound deading under the carpet under the rear seats in side the rear panels even boot floor and tail gate its so quiet now :)

Cheap interior? The MK1 and MK2 facelift interiors look very nice (especially the latter) My best friend has a facelift MK2 and the build quality is fantastic. TBH I wouldn't touch one of the astras myself but thats just me. Main reasons are they're chavvy and secondly I have heard the same about the 150hp cars and thirdly they torque steer like crazy

P.S I suppose I am a little biased :D

I am not saying its badly built, just saying the materials used are poor in comparison to the soft touch plastic used in the Astra doors. We have a Leon at work and the interior is rock solid compared to my Ibiza. Tbh the Leon 2.0 TDi would be what i would like but SEAT's future is looking bleak so resale values will plummet which is not good.

what clips did you replace with? and what type of sound proofing did you use?

what you have to remember is all cars from all manufacturers have there problems some worse than others that mount into alot of expense to fix so having cheap clips and rattles in a car isnt a massive issue when there could be a turbo going pop early or a belt snapping early. the mk4 dont have massive problems like some cars do.

i agree with you, engine wise my car is spot on (touch wood!!) it now pretty responsive after the software update i got and it revvs very freely so i guess i cant complain in that respect!

the company i work for have there own bodyshop so i managed to find some new clips in the stores and had to buy some aswel from dealer. As for sound proofing under the saet and floor i got some thick carpet. In the panels and boot floor and tail gate i got some grey inch thick polystyrene sheets works a treat

most of you say you want to sell it but would you regret it after and would you like someone else drivin round in the car you spent all the time and money on ?

I would not regret it and i have not spent that much money on mine, only on suspension to try and solve crashing and banging lol. But then again my car is not like yours......as in its not fast lol

I bought my red 55 plate ibiza cupra TDi from new, but then had to sell to buy my first house. Didn't want to get rid of the car and was gutted to see it go.
Just recenltly bought a 56 plate ibiza cupra TDi in silver.
Love the car, and I will get it remapped this time.

Dont buy 1.4 then lmao , i got my fr at 18 .. just saveee

Think i will just wait and get something that i actually want rather than just for speed. Plus there are other things which i would prefer to spend my money on like going out and enjoying myself lol :drunk:

Thats up to you.. the fr was what i wanted.. Just penny save money management is the key .. I go out with the lads every weekend and see them 2-3 times through the week , aswell as working and going to college and spending money on the car .. Depends what you want and how fast you want it

Im on my second one i have had 8 cars including a 25k sports car and still love the ibiza best out of all of them . the 600bhp supra that i tried to keep up with today made me want to trade it in tho lol
