Forgive the crap pics, they are from new fangled windows phone and I haven't got the hang of it yet!!

OK, brief update, FINALLY going to be losing the bailey dv that the previous owner fitted, one of the guys at work had a forge recirc (green spring) sat around doing nowt, and as he has just bought a corsa vxr and is looking for a dv, we have swapped!

Going to get it on the car ASAP! :)

Good work. These LCR's like Forge recirc's more than any other dv out there.

Hi Mark,

The car is coming along nicely. When I've cleaned my seats in the past, I'd tried steam cleaning and Autoglym, etc, with limited results before trying Vanish Oxi Foam (from Tescos). The results were brilliant; effortless application and removal, without the potential of causing damage to the fabrics, ie, sagging or discolouration, etc. The Pics of my interior within my thread were after a treatment of this.

Of course, everyone has their preferences but thought you might appreciate ideas.

James :)

Thanks James, I'll have a nose, I tried a bit of vansish stain remover with half tidy results!

Thanks Sam, appreciate it. :)

Why thank you sir!

Well, the Forge valve is on, took it for a spin to make sure all is well.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Good lord, just goes to show what I've been missing out on!

Note to self, spout the benefits of recirc dv's over atmos dv's to whoever will listen!

Not much been happening over the last month due to that holiday we like to call Christmas!

All I've done is buy some uprated headlight bulbs (don't want to go HID till I know what the MOT standpoint is) LED sidelight bulbs and LED No. Plate bulbs which I should recieve some time this week from Hong Kong.

I've also bought some front and rear brake pads as mine are getting wafer thin! Got myself some brand new rear discs from ebay, genuine for my sins! They had been bought and never fitted, so got myself a bargain!

Just need to get myself some Brembo decals and some red paint and lacquer for the brake caliper refurb front and rear that I need to do.

Just wish the weather would warm up a tad to make me more motivated to go and crack on!

Nice looking car mate for the mileage. You don't need paint or decals for refurb there's a guide on here just search brembo refurb. Oh an best colour by the way

Thanks Dav, will have a nose. :)

I thought I'd have to wire brush all the old lacquer off then repaint.

Rear calipers will need a repaint though.

Going to have a go at this method I reckon, shame there's no pics on the thread. :(

For reference Mark, I've used this method in the past; it's really quite surprising how well the red paint comes up with a fresh coat of lacquer.

My only advice would be to go easy on the wet sanding over the decal, so that you don't rub it away. I used some U-POL lacquer and the coat has lasted well; little and often should see very good results.

Let us know how you get on Mark.

James :)

Very nice car matey don't be put off with black it soon comes up clean if you keep on washing :D

you will find the brake callipers will also start to appear more red the more often you wash it (t-cut'd mine and now they are very red!)

the only thing is black shows up scratches and stuff and takes a little bit longer to clean but is well worth it

you have made a good start there, mods sound good, interior can take ages to appear clean lol!
thats a great price you paid tbh! good that you have done the cambelt change better safe than sorry!
good engines in the leon so mileage is nothing to worry about

you will probably have noticed the badges are not to good either, they generally fade out pretty quickly, i have changed all of mine for new ones and the side ones are starting to fade slightly again from over cleaning lol

have you got the vagcom software if so you can get the code to activate the interior sensors on the alarm, you may find yours are not activated a common fault on the leon from the factory

Will do James, will take pics as I go!

RS6, badges are fooked on mine! Lol! They are on the shopping list.

I work for VW so have VAS to hand for turning stuff on and off, according to VAS everything is turned on and tip top. :)
