this thread seems to have split into 2 topics now , ok so its won the best engine agian whoopy doo de doo.
so here lies the dilema for vag group , in the original post it said about expensive to manufacture , maybe this is why they might pull it? if i was a betting man i would agree , there was an article either late last year or this year about seat loosing too much money and that they had 5 years to turn the company aroud , ok so its not a seat specific engine but , you have to think with all these engine problems , and please stop looking at this through rose tinted glasses because there are a lot of problems look on scirroco forums loads have the same issues , that this expensive to produce engine is actually costing the vag group a hell of a lot of money to maintain through warranty work and replacements.
there is no argument about it being frugal and technologicaly advanced but that doesnt
help you when your car is in limp mode !
i think the engine will get pulled, but in the vag groups eyes they will save face because of the positive media and awards but in reality i think it will become a legacy they could probably do without my opinion ,unless they get to the fix and quick but as i have already posted these problems have been known about for some time.
but a very valid point has been raised is th american lemon law , its about time consumers in the uk were protected by something simliar and manufactuers were held to task over it.
oh and just one final bit on the awards , i was reading what the awards are about and its a panel of judges who drive and rate the cars now they arnt exactly going to be driving faulty ones are they? just a thought.
