If you carnt smell petrol youll be fine its one of those things to check now along with the cam lobe. Plus regular oil changes will reduce this risk aswell.

going to do it every 5k again now I have the 36mm socket

*edit its mad how much more expensive oil is over here Grrr. Get it cheaper ordered from Uk and pay £18 for delivery and still cheaper than Germany

Revo told me they have known this problem to effect APR pumps too!!!!

P.S. Oil in this area is good Mike. However to say you changed your oil so recently it looks quite dark.

How many APR pumps do you know of doing this Rich check on the yank forums aswell and there isnt a mention. Revo doent exactly get on with APR ;)

Yes i know the yanks bum APR but still nothing

I would be interested in knowing about APR pump failures. As mentioned before though, it seems that there may be an issue with standard fuel pumps on standard cars now too.

They or he rather never went into numbers Rob.

I was a bit dumb founded to be honest mate, thought I had the bombproof version

My 07 CUPRA has done 49k, and I change the oil and filter in it every 10k, also check/replace the cam follower every 5k.

Here is a pic I took recently, as you can see there is oil but I usually dont get much more than this:

My car is only Stage 1 though and on the standard pump so maybe not relevant.

A little less oil there than mine and just as black. Just need to shake the paranoia about the smell of fuel.

Do you run an engine cover I assume? Your engine is much cleaner than mine

Obviously smells of fuel and very thin consistency */ viscosity, cant really smell oil but dont remember finding it last time I did my cam follower *

Oil consumption seems to be fairly high, cant quote measured figures but I assumed it was down to BSH catch can...

Thanks in advance

nothing wrong with that other than your engine bay being filthy lol

Id go and buy some De greaser but everything in Germany shuts on Sunday :censored:

Job for tomorrow lunch [B)]

Blow off with air line & degreaser & paint brush I think. Going to modify an engine cover I reckon

Took my fuel pump off again today to check on the amount of oil and its just slightly less than yours Mike, no smell of fuel either which I'm happy with! :)

Mike, I don't run one at the minute mate, I just always clean the engine lol and dress it with silicone spray. I too am going to mod my standard engine cover soon to fit the EVOMS intake somehow.

Off topic but how/where do you cut the standard cover to make it fit?

Mike , when i changed my cam follower i had similar amounts of oil , i have also noticed that the more miles that are on the engine the quicker it goes black.

your fuel smell might just be the fuel around the area from the bleed valve mate , you might have had a tad on your fingers maybe if thats how you smelt your oil?
