Part1
Righto folks, sorry haven’t updated in a few weeks I have been busy with stuff.Still no sign of the new setup
but I have plenty of other stuff to keep me busy.My clutch finally started to let go after about 7k miles on my Hybrid setup, not bad really when you consider the abuse it got, I have decided to go for a DMF again and a uprated Sachs clutch, I want to keep the OEM feel and after a lot of reading around I think this will do the trick nicely, I plan to order it and can hopefully do the setup start to finish for about 1k, I will keep you posted.
I have done tons of small work on the car, bits and bobs here and there and made sure I snapped a few pictures along the way.
So here we go:
1: New Genesis 550cc injectors with harnesses, waiting on delivery.
2: New MAF, airflow are back to consistent 250+ reading.
3: Setup of super low mileage Eiback Pro-Street-S coilover, mounts etc.. installed.
4: New AutoMeter Sport-Comp II gauage installed.
5: B-Hague Headrest camera mount and Iphone adapter.
6: Refurbed my Liguid Gauge vent install.
7: Set of Vredestein Ultra Sessanta’s, happy days.
8: New WMI nozzle mount. update tomorrow.
1. We’ll start with the Injectors, I am currently running my 440cc injectors are 4 bar, so about 510cc in flow altogether but I can’t help feelling in the back of my mind the fuel pump is under pressure, 4bar FPR + 1.7 bar boost is 5.7bar fuel rail pressure.When I get the 550cc installed I will go back to the 3 bar FPR and give my fuel pump a break. After reading tons of stuff on the Genesis 550cc injectors they seem to be the favoured injector for tuners with great reviews, mine are enroute at the moment, no doubt they are sitting in customs while they figure out the import tax BS. Will have to tweak the remap for these bad boys, worth it though.

2. My G/S was slowly decreasing over the past few weeks, so I bought a new MAF and they are back to a consistent 250g/s+ at 7k rpm, my last MAF only lasted 8months, I am slightly annoyed at this. As you can see from the Dyno picture I found out my rev limiter is about 7500rpm, LOL.
3. I was lucky enough to pick up a set of Eibach coilovers for next to nothing, they had 2k miles on them and were solid. I suspected my Jamex coilovers were fcuked, I was right when I got them off the car they were in shite, especially the left one, zero rebound. I am happy with the Eibach, the ride is nice, not to harsh, very nice on cornering. I did the usual install, mount, strut nuts etc… Some pic’s from the install:

My hands were to dirty to take pic’s of the rear install, but you get the idea.
4. I have owened about 4 Boost gauges over the last while, all reading in bar and all low end.I tested them all while I simultaneously connected them to a line and pressurised it, no surprise they all read different, some high some low, all wrong though.
I decided to fork out abit of extra cash on a tried and tested gauge, so I bought an AutoMeter Sport-Comp II, the second I held this in my hand I could feel the superior build quality and its super accurate. In addition i went for the PSI this time, it really helps tune the boost better when using an MBC, I am very happy with this purchase.
5. B-hague Camera mount, I got sick of trying to hold my iPhone steady while trying to record, not to mention its dangerous and just stupid. This piece of kit is really slick, I still have a bit of tweaking to do but overall all I am chuffed with it.

6. My Liquid Gauge install with feelling abit sorry for itself, I had an awful time trying to mount it in the vent when I first installed it, I have since found Race diagnostics sent out a dodgy batch that moulding were wrong on.I bought a second hand vent for a fiver and also sanded down my Liquid gauge surround and resprayed it.It came out well it think.

Looking forward to a fresh set of Ultrac Sessantas myself too, current ones will probably be shot after the winter - how'd you find them in the snow?
Thats the word, "goodies" i love goodies and Yeah, i fitted the coilover myself, coilovers are super easy if you have the right tools and i won't trust the local garages, the don't seem to recognise torque values, just the good and tight rule.
I haven't used the Ultrac in Snow, but to be fair i am not expecting much, only winter tyres(or chains) can cope with snow IMO, they are awesome in the wet, they give got feedback, better then the Potenza PE050 i had before which didn't cope with the wet and had very poor feedback on corning and don't break traction so easy, granted they are new but my previous tyres did not hold traction this good when they were wet.

I looked at getting some winter tyres but I struggled to get anything half decent for less than about £600 for a set, bad times.
Good to know they were decent in the snow, i couldnt be bothered getting winter tyres just yet, in fairness the last few years have been freak winters in Ireland anyway and it doesnt last to long, i just use the wife's Laguna, its big, heavy and its seems to cope better.

Another dead TB
Well today i killed another throttle body from injecting W/M pre TB, what a complete bollix, there has to be away to stop it getting into the TB electric.

For a start I used to swap the tyres on my OEM wheels then I picked up a set of aftermarket alloys.
WTF is this week, national WMI failure week, first WMI killed a TB on me, thats fine i am aware of this risk but now the pump has decided to stop working, i checked all the connections, fuses, had the multi meter out, all fine, controller acts normal, even tried to short it out to get it to run, but its dead.THis happened the pump before so i took it to bits and when i put it back together it worked fine, its like its stuck or something.
Just as well i always check my Liquid guage before i go for a blast. This devil's own kit is coming off the car, i am to suspicious of the pump/kit now and it doesn't have a failsafe.

Well i bite the bullet and ordered up a new SouthBend clutch, this clutch is for use with the OEM DMF and is rated to 450lb/ft which i am thinking should be enough and from the reviews i've read it doesn't break you leg in traffic and feels close to stock, i guess the proof is in the pudding.
Should be getting fitted in the few weeks.

While i was at it i also ordered up a a new induction kit, while my Jetex filter is fine the connectors/joiners are not imo, the air travel over these uneven surfaces must cause unwanted turbulance, so i am going to give a Velocity stack a go, they are widespread in the USA and the idea is to have smooth uniformed airflow in a short ram type intake.
We will see if it does anything, i may be just nit picking now.
