You don't have to take the intake manifold off to change hoses under it, but it's a bitch of a job getting in there to do it. It can be done tho, I didn't take mine off. I've got some small jubilee clips too, I'll have a dig tomorrow when I'm washing the car and let you know.

Yeah I was planning on going to the meet but I was in France with work all that week, got back late the night before and had to help the other half with preparations for a dinner party that night so couldn't make the meet :( If you fancy another one just post in the Scotland section of the forum :)

Sure, I'll easy help out. Didn't get a chance to check in the garage today, was going to wash the car this afternoon but ended up getting treated to an afternoon shopping for kitchen utensils - the joys of becoming a new homeowner :)

As Derek says there is a fair bit of stuff connected under the intake manifold (whoever thought that would be a good place for stuff wants a kicking like), some of it can be gotten rid of though by fitting a catch can and doing the "PCV delete", maybe something to think about for the future.

Those pics do look good, sure I've seen that Astra around and respect to the MX-5 - my girlfriend's got one of them, ace cars :)

Haha cool, hadn't had a chance to get out to the garage yet but no worries. What internal diameter hose did you get?

Still happy to lend a hand if you like, just fire me a PM.

cool cool :)

actually got the Forge DV relocation Kit

as well as the Forge polished boost pipe

:) , if there here this weekend could always use a hand ;)

Heh, more goodies eh? I'll see what like this weekend, if all goes to plan we will be picking up a couple of cats. The furry kind, not the ones in your exhaust.

Do you get some vac hose to feed to the DV with the coldside kit? I guess you wouldn't have as long a run that way as it's not got to get all the way to the top of the TIP...

indeed , thought why not :p haha , ah cool , im sure i will manage but also good to have someone who knows what there doing under the bonnet :p ,

i think you do yeh so wont be able to get to the mani easier i thought.

Got my Forge DV relocation Kit and Forge Boost Pipe (suited for DV as well)

looks like a hard job doing the relocation (since i have no idea round my engine atm , anyone done this before could give some tips before i attempt at the weekend

All depends on what your doing to the car really. Are you concentrating on increasing power? The TIP was the first thing I changed on my car as they are prone to collapse under pressure especially on mapped cars. There is the badger5 TIP (which is what I have) but now SFS do a 3" TIP also. Saw a post somewhere where someone got qouted around £130 for it. Might be worth a look

i am looking to increase power (eventually) right now im building a good base for when i do get the re-map , slowly uprating all the parts (im not sure if this is a good idea but wouldnt have thought it) then when im fine with all the parts i want ill get a remap to suit (aiming towards Revo Stage2 or something along that line.

yup did see that but right now i am a very novice with well turbo cars ... a hour ago i didnt even now what TIP meant XD haha

No probs mate, I was in the same boat until I got the LCR. You will easily learn it all. Check out this thread on the 3" SFS TIP: Sfs performance 3" Tip Definitely something you should change before getting the car mapped. I personally went to stage 2 tuning, so basically got everything done and then mapped. Suited me perfectly but then everyones different

 yeh just taking it step by step atm really , ah rite , im sure ill either check on here or ask a couple local people when im ready to map if i should and what to etc , as of right now the car is more than powerfull enough (from stepping up from a 1.2 corsa c:lol:)
but def sounds like a TIP is needed for a MAP as also saw a VID on Forge of what happens to it haha

TIP is worth doing, same as EL I did that and a Forge 007 DV as my first mods. Stock rubber TIP can not only collapse under high boost but they're prone to splitting.

In general it's not a bad idea to change rubber hoses for silicone ones - rubber can perish when it gets oil on it and these cars have a habit of suffering split breather pipes, which can mean little specks of oil getting around the engine bay. They're also known to suffer leaking rocker cover gaskets, which also means oil in places you don't want it ;)
