i'm so tied between this and the reflex silver GTI anniversary thats on 42k (also on piston heads), i know this'll be a good bit cheaper to run, but have always dreamed of a mk4 golf anni and time seems to be running out for them!

either way my mk2 ibiza has to go by the end of december. i take it there'll be a hell of a lot of interest in this leon?

can i ask a question: when checking insurance on this what spec should i put in? the mind boggles...

my recent quotes on the 1.8t anniversary were better than expected, finally seeming to slowly lose that boy racer stereotype!

any advice much appreciated.

Just tell them its the 150 TDI FR (up to 2005) and jobs a good'n. They tend to think MK2 when they hear FR.

And definitly this over the MK4 Golf - they are getting on to 10 years old and will only become more and more outdated, unlike the Leon.

Thank you mate.

This doesnt seem to make sense -

Volkswagen Golf Hatchback 1.8 GTI Anniversary (180ps) 3d (2003) - Insurance Group 33

SEAT Leon Hatchback 1.9 TDi FR (150ps) 5d (2005) - Insurance Group 25

Cheapest quote on the Leon is £300 more than the cheapest on the Golf.

Hmmm.

no, just standard! dont get it. both quotes from Flux aswell, will ring em with the golf quote and ask to change over the phone, doesnt make sense with it being 8 groups lower!

jeez i'd love this car but 5 years NCB for a 23 year old doesnt seem to be enough to have any fun these days :(

Just read this from start to finish.....is making me want a mk1 more and more

How reliable was this with all the modifications?

Never had engine problems so would consider the car very reliable.

Awsome....I've been looking around and the diesel mk1s seem to come up good value for money, so will add that to the potential list, lol

Yep, totally agree!!

I agree too:D

I've just spent £85 getting my detailing kit back up to scratch. This car has really re-lit my love for cars, especially now it has the Eibach RARB fitted.

I find myself going for random drives, something I haven't done for years. I can go for a good hours blast and the fuel gauge hardly moves:funk:

I'm really tempted to order the Goodyear Asymmetric 2's and :censored: the Mrs off.

Well it's the end for jonjay and cav but just the start for me. Finally picked the car up today and I'm made up with it. I'll start a new thread in good time but for now I'm happy with just how it's is maybe just get the wheels re done. Cheers
