now that what a dealer should be like :p
know all the stats and what can be done to the car to make it faster and better ;) haha

i bought my car from autoworld in chesterfield and the bloke there was good, just wish he knew about insurance for the cupra so i bought one of them instead of my sc lol

I agree with you both that a slesman should know all there is to know about the cars there selling but have you ever read a brochure? they do not have all the information do they?

So how am i supposed to learn all about remaping figures and prices unless i register on a forum and find out, huh thats exactly what ive done.

can I just ask what your problem is and what you expect me to do?

Hi Dan and Dealer 1986 :)

im the reason Dan got an ibiza i'd like to think coz I bought a Tribu Cupra and were good mates ;)

Glad that your on here you might get some good leads from here as well. I think the Cupra is brilliant. had a missfired issue on on mine (4months and 900miles) on it as it was a showroom demo. got the plugs/injectors/coil pack/HT leads all swapped out in 2 days was very happy with the service and ive not had a problem since.

Its a brill little hot hatch as standard and ive just had mine remapped and its just more of the same. so bloody good :)

Dan what kinda meet is it at Xscape- I'll come meet you guys and Dealer(apologies, forgotten your name if youve mentioned it) you can have a good look around my car.

Oh and MPG wise- I live in leeds my commute is only 10mins so never gets to warm up properly but when I got for drives once its warm I do give it some stick and I still get 31mpg average out of it.

And as for the guys flaming him for trying to learn from the customers rather than manufactuers handbook i'd like to say well done to him. Seat isnt going to tell him about the bad parts(faulty spark plugs ect) because it could prevent him from making a sale. Plus, Customers no best and I doubt that there are many Seat Dealers that sell Cupras like hotcakes. Its not really your run of the mill car. I see more Focus RS's , renaultsports and the like than cupras on the road. My dealer in huddersfield only had this (as a showroom demo) and one other white Boc and said that they dont sell many Cupras as a group so I imagine that day in day out the Original Poster(OP) is dealing with leons with 1.2tsi's and ibiza's with NA engines ect.

Jay

Hi Jay, thanks for your post, you couldn't be more right. We have sold 2 FR's whilst iv been here, no Cupras or no Boc's, there abit of a rare sale as most people want Ecomotives or 1.2tsi Leons like you said.

You were lucky to get your car in tribu mate, looks very nice.

Iv got my eye on a white Boc at the moment with Xenons, racing brakes, convienence pack, black alloys, Revo and some other bits and pieces so hopefully I can do a good deal and will be in that shortly. fingers crossed.

Irfan

Ow thats not good mate, I have just called service and asked them about it for you, apparently there stripping the engine and replacnig half of it, they have had to order all the parts which arrived yesterday but now its over 20 hours of work so I've been told mid next week for ya.

Thanks ifran, im obviously not opposed to selling cars over the forum but thats really not why iv joined.

However.....form an orderly cue ha ha ha.

If you came in and sid you were looking at one and what are they like to run then yes I would tell you they can suffer certain issues and how to fix them or who to speak to if a problem occured. I think you guys have me all wrong and maybe thats down to negative experiences with dealerships / salesman in the past?

I am just a genuine car enthusiast who has started a job in sales so i can sell what i like, cars.

If i hadn't said i was a car salesman would there even be a debate ongoing here? no. So I dont understand why a few of you are trying to make an issue of this?

Also i did register on here a while back but have only started using the forum the past 3 days.

So it wasnt just me who thought that then.
My post wasnt hostile towards you , but you seemed to have taken it that way.
maybe a bit of guilt hahahahahaha

theres no debate going on it was a simple observation which unfortuntly you took the wrong way , and tbh sort of bought it on yourself by saying you were a car salesman , but has been fun reading over the last 5 pages except for the mindless idiots who open there mouths with out their spotty teenage brains engaging.

Oh and for the record im not 18 , those days have long gone.
well what ever car you get i hope you enjoy it.

You won't regret getting speed blue..best colour about. Every credit for you actually taking a care in your job and finding out from the customers what the cars are actually like.

The likes of Rob well your gaining experience from the customers...SEAT dont teach you that.

:censored:

So you shut your mouth or 'button it'. Give the guy a break, i mean what a way to welcome a guy to the forum.

give it a rest mate ffs , this post has bugger all to do with you.
so no i wont button it or shut my mouth , in fact why dont you take your words and use them :moon:

not all young people on this forum have had bad things to say have they?

i have dealt with good and bad sales people but only have said about the good points from the sales person.

Not all young people are here to argue and kick up a fuss

only person who started with a negative comment is you robdf2....let the guy enquire, what does it matter hes a salesman who cares, hes keen to learn and deserves some credit for that, a dealer will never teach him to be completely honest about the potential issues with these cars so if hes keen to learn and truly advise customers with honesty...well he deserves a gold sticker in my book!!

what do u get out of running him down and pissing off alot of the people on here...alot of us are young and so your last comment isnt going to go down well you tend to stick your foot in your even bigger mouth alot. thats why your getting peoples backs up.

Sorry mate not running anyone down , only replying to the posters who have shouted their mouths off.

I posted a fair comment , and have since posted saying its not a dig at the op.

But other posters seem to think they can jump on the bandwagon when it's got sweet fa to do with them.
Oh well we live and learn.
