Looks to be! How are you going to cut the key? I found that key cutting places can't do it. if you have a look on wrayvon's thread I've posted a link to the guy I used. He got it right first time and supplied the blade. He uses your reg number and an automated machine which cuts it perfectly.

I used timpsons aswell, when I eventually found one that thought they could do it, he said 'if it doesn't work, which it may not, there's nothing you can do I can't refund you'

Surprise surprise it didn't work. Spoke to this guy and it was perfect. He does it the same way a dealer would, using vin number and his machine knows the pattern so it comes out perfect.

If you do use him then get it sent to a friends address, the guy can cut a key for your car, and knows where you live if you have it sent to yours, may be an invitation to have your headunit nicked! Just a precaution!

yeah saw the link you posted & ive emailed him asking if i sent him the blank flip key if he would be able to cut it on the flip key rather than sending me a blank blade.

Also did you code your transponder? thats the only bit im confused on...

I asked him that too and he said its easier if he uses his, that was about a year ago though.

Do you mean transponder or remote?

I used my transponder from my spare key.

And I programmed the remote using a video on youtube which showed me how. Quite simple.

Don't know why you're bothering with that key and seller Marksy, you can get a better 3 button key for less money from the same seller I got mine from.

Linky

I coded mine with VCDS and swapped the transponder from the non-remote key. Although most autolocksmiths can copy transponders these days. Just Google them for places near you, I'm sure there will be one.

Timpsons refused to cut my key. The bloke would only cut blades that he sells. I asked him to sell me one but then he told me he couldn't as he only had non-flip blades

Went somewhere else, bloke cut the key but didn't charge me because he didn't want to guarantee his work. Woo key cut for free :D

would a 3 button work if i only had a 2 button to begin with?
Yes. My 3 button key works, so does my standard old 2 button one ;)
I've read the unlock & lock buttons work, but have heard mixed views on the boot...
They do work, its just some people don't know how to use the 3 button key :p you have to hold the button for at least 1 second then it unlocks the boot. It doesn't pop the boot, Ibizas don't have little rams on the bootlid to make that happen. But it does unlock the boot and then when you shut the boot it automatically re-locks.

Common on here for people to go for TT 312mm brakes.
What do you need braided lines for?

Help braking performance. Basically going to do a whole brake overhaul, even though the standard are good I can tell that when you push it sometimes the brakes fade, and brakes are the only thing saving you from a tree or a truck :)

Places to get TT brakes? Would prefer new rather than off a scrapped TT

New TT brakes will be 500+ easily. What do you mean the brakes fade? I can't fault mine tbh, they brake very well under normal braking and emergency stops are brilliant. These are road cars, not track.....

yeah braided hoses are for full on track slags, which unless that's your plan, are unnecessary.

If you want to improve your initial bite of your brakes then get some EPC ultimax pads or equivalent. Thats the best way to improve your braking without bigger discs.

Your standard hoses will be fine with some 312's.

Genuine SEAT discs (or Brembo OEM equivalents which are very good quality) with a set of Ferodo DS2500 pads... job done. Could go 312 if you like but you'll have to go for used part calipers and carriers or else it'll be far too expensive.

Very nice car, makes a change to see a 5 door. If you want an upgrade on the 288mm, ds2500 pads and mintex discs seems to be a common combo, I just bought 312mm setup from a low mileage Tt for £150 and only just replaced the discs and pads with brembos and they are worlds apart from the 288mm but it depends on where you want to take the car, stg1 upgrade the 288's, stg2 and above get some 312mm's.
