MK 5 Ibiza Cupra Build
Took delivery of my Cupra October 2010 at a nicely discounted price as I bought it from the dealer I worked at.
True to form, I wouldn’t let the valeters touch the car and so took delivery of it with the plastics still on the floor, seats and the chalk numbers still on the windows.
Give it a quick rinse over for the first pictures;
Towards November I started collecting a few detailing bits and pieces to go with my already vast collection.
Sonus wash mitt and Zaino Z2 sealant kit.
Zymol HD cleanse and Bilthamber clay from NorthEast Detailing. A ‘Superspray’ from Clean Your Car.com; basically a cheap version of a foam lance, can’t be robbed for £9.25 delivered and a big blue drying towel courtesy of Dave Brown/North East Detailing.
Winter Detail
I had a week off work in November so decided to give the car its first proper detail to protect it over the winter. Started off with it looking like this;
Sprayed the whole car with an APC mixture first of all;
And then moved onto to cleaning the wheels with AutoGlym Custom Alloy Wheel Cleaner;
Washed the body work using the two bucket method with grit guards, Poorboys Super Slick and Suds, Sonus wash mitt, big blue drying towel and a Zymol detailing brush;
Clayed the paintwork to remove what looked like a lot of under seal dotted around the car. Got the car in the garage at this stage;
Pre wax cleansed all the paintwork using Zymol HD Cleanse;
Went onto sealing the car with Zaino Z2 sealant and ZFX kit;
