Got a call today telling me I'll be getting a new engine fitted next week as soon as it arrives.
Also the answer I got from Audi about different Engine Codes:
The first 3 letters (Sample: CAV) are related to hardware components/manufacturer and the last letter (G) related to engine power.
So CAVF, CAVE and CAVG are both identical in terms of hardware with just a minimal different power output.
BUT the new CTHE/CTHG engines have different hardware components from a different manufacturer and different software. The power output are as follow:
CTHE 180ps (same as CAVE engine)
CTHG 185ps (same as CAVG engine)
Could it be because of the new injector/fuel pump/spark plugs that they use now as opposed to the ones the originals used as all of these have been upgraded now, and the letter change suggests that its standard on the new versions.
or
Has it changed because the piston rings used are different...............even the pistons themselves as rumour has it.
Think a further email is necessary.
cheers mate, im intrigued now by the difference in hardware. has to be major to justify a different engine code which would make the rumours true about pistons.
