So, I went to the dealers today to get some warranty work done on my Ibiza FR; sagging on the leather driver's seat, broken rear left seat catch, bonnet clips falling to pieces... long story short they had to order 2 things in for me and managed to get both orders wrong
.
Anyway, as I was leaving in a foul mood, I spoke to a salesman who said I could get a Leon FR+ pretty much right away if I chopped in my Ibiza FR 2.0 Diesel against it. With 0 deposit it'd apparently work out less than the £330 a month I'm currently paying for the Ibiza. It seems to have a tonne of gadgets, even though I really wish you could save a bit by declining to have the sat nav (I've never come across an in-built sat nav that comes close to TomTom).
So I've been doing some research and obviously the MK3 is out soon - I'm not sold on the new Mk3 look, in fact I think it looks like a pointier Ibiza. What worries me though is that I'll be stuck with the car for 3 years due to the fact the car may depreciate massively once the Mk3 comes out. Is this a valid concern?
Is a £300-330 figure a good deal? I've looked into leasing and I can lease one for around £280 (inc VAT). Seems to me that if the lease car companies can get to that figure, the dealership should definitely be able to get sub £300. Has anyone got experience of buying the FR+ 2.0 TDi recently and what deal did you get?
