Does anyone know what this is likely to be and how to fix it?

I picked the car up on Saturday, have done about 200 miles in it since roughly, and driving home from work today the EML came on, I connected the Bluetooth adapter and ran diagnostics using the torque pro app and p0600 came up.

The car since I picked it up has driven without fault and still does even with the light on.

Pressure control solenoid? You need a the five digit number like "16729". You'll be able to look this up in the rosstech code list and the p code will be stated beside the five digit number as a conformation.

This link to the fault code descriptions is given in page three of the fault code read here first thread. Originally posted courtesy of muttely.

It'll give you a list of possible suspects causing your problem.

Cheers mate.

Is there anyway of getting the 5 digit code without Vag Com? I will be able to borrow a friends scan gauge later but not sure what format the codes they display are

I got a gendan cable for £20 and used the vcds-Lite free software to get this from my car.

2 Faults Found:

17748 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) / Engine Speed Sensor (G28): Incor. Correlation

P1340 - 35-00 - -

16725 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs

P0341 - 35-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

So it gives you both but I used one of the smart phone torque lite apps initially and got a P code error which only really gives you a general direction to look in. I don't recall that it gave a five digit code. Even the brief descriptions above aren't conclusive. The ross-tech database is good at giving possibilities which you then have to eliminate. Hope this helps.

Does that version run on a windows 7 laptop? I did look on eBay and most said they wasn't compatible.

The lite only does fault codes doesn't it? I was hoping to use vag com in the near future and activate a few features (auto windows etc), will lite do that?

Yes on the windows 7, mine's windows 7 home premium. You'd be best to phone gendan straight and ask them for the cable specific to your model and age of car. I'm not sure about auto windows functions but I do know that you can do logs with vcds-lite, read the timing etc. They have a tutorial on it's abilities on ross-tech. It needs to be registered to read timing which cost me £65.
