car looks great mate, i like what u've done with the battery and air filter, i did plan to do something like that a while ago but never got round to it.

the heat shield was interesting to make....not too difficult, but just fiddly. Very happy with how it has turned out.
The car for the first time in weeks made if off the driveway the other night and I made it to Ace Cafe.
Car didn't miss a beat and was flying on the way back home. Seems the screwed thermostat and temp sensor was really messing the fueling up, but top end it feels fine now, as where before it felt as if it was struggling. The sensors were so bad they were throwing the engine management light
It's all booked in for it's final remap and water meth being fitted on the 27th June
It will only be putting out about 270-280bhp, but with it almost being 150kg+ lighter, it feels quick
This also arrived yesterday, not sure what MER quality is like, but I got it for a good price
Also while sorting out the battery the other day, a 6 speed quick shift was fitted, which feels nice and I had fitted a set of Mintex 1777 brake pads, equivalent for the DS3000's, but much more hardcore orientated

You can see the LCR spoiler in the passenger footwell I picked up the other night as well, going to fit this when it stops raining, much bigger than the standard LC spoiler

Something really different mate, I like the work done to it - and just like Dozer360 I like your air filter idea - though I wouldn't be brave enough to do it myself. Good job!

I managed to damage and round off my locking wheel nut the other day
I had lost my other one about 18 months ago...fortunately McGard had kept a record of my details and had registered me, so when I emailed them, they were able to send out the right key to me straight away.
Decided to order two this time, from Germany. Very efficient service and highly recommend them...good ol' Germans!

I had lost my other one about 18 months ago...fortunately McGard had kept a record of my details and had registered me, so when I emailed them, they were able to send out the right key to me straight away.
Decided to order two this time, from Germany. Very efficient service and highly recommend them...good ol' Germans!
I'm always getting into those kind of situations so I ordered a spare key as soon as I bought my locking wheel nuts and yup McGard were on point. All the best mate!
now that the car is running, it's time to tidy up a few bits on the car
Cable tied the main battery cable through the car along the side rails
and tidying up the white bits in the shell
After taking out all the sound deadening, there are white bits in the shell...which is odd as some other stripped out leons of the same age have a fully sprayed shell

Bit patchy and needs another coat, but will do this later
Carbon coil cover refitted
Gave the engine bay a 10 minute clean over
Need to sort out a custom casing for the fuse box and still a lot of work to do to get it up to a decent standard, but now the car is running I can focus on the more cosmetic bits
Also cable tied a number of cables in the interior and the big battery cable to so it is not loose in the car

well it's good news and bad news
Good news is, that it has passed it's MOT and ready for show season, or at least it was...
bad news is that I STILL have a wheel wobble on the front nearside, when hitting corners at pace.
If I go slowly round a corner it's fine, soon as I do it with pace, TCS kicks in and something is majorly up with it. Now track rod ends, wheel bearings, bushes, etc have all been replaced.
There was a fault with the captive nut, where buy it simply wasn't tightening properly, causing the arm to shift and move about.
I have replaced the subframe, thinking this was it the captive nut, then when on the way to the MOT centre yesterday, hitting a long sweeping bend, the TCS and wheel wobble kicked in again
Jacked it up and checked over all the bolts in the subframe and all tight, no movement what so ever.
Also tried to shake the wheel hard for any movement from left to right, and still nothing.
The one thing I haven't tested is trying a corner with the TCS OFF...and see what happens, faulty ABS sensor maybe or something wrong with TCS.
Last thing I can try is getting the tracking done as its maybe the wheel badly catching, as this has not been done since the subframe was fitted
Other than that, I am really out of things to test, because I have pretty much covered every component which connects the wheel to the shaft

Switched the TCS off, and nothing, no wheel wobble, the car was like a go kart around the roundabout

As I made my heat shield then I am tempted to make these from aluminum and get them carbon dipped, but trying to get two identical sets for either side of the bumper is going to be very hard
