fake engine sounds

I wonder if you can use VCDS to change it like you change ring tones on your phone.

You could get it to play the sound of a Lambo Aventador or something. :)

It depends on your mind set. personally I find my CR170 sounds pretty good. My old PD170 on the other hand used to sound like a tractor.

Under load yes I think CR does sound nice but you need to experience one of these boxes, they sound amazing. If only they had positioned it in the boot it would be perfect but the comment on here sums it up, it comes from the front and even if you don't know what it is that doesn't make sense

To my knowledge, many car manufacturers have started to do this. It's more, in-car entertainment rather than p!** your neighbours off sort of thing. I doubt you can hear it all that well when driving, from the outside at least.

God, I sound so old lol. It was less than a year ago I had my 1.4 MG ZR completely decatted custom 3.5 inch piping all the way through, now that, that was loud

Does anybody have a photo of where this is or a guide of how to remove it on a Leon? Seen lots for GTIs but it doesn't look anything like them under the bonnet!

There is no need to remove it, just unplug it. If you remove the rubber seal that runs across the back of the engine bay, the plastic panel (at the bottom of the windscreen) can be lifted up about 2". It is located about 6-8" to the right of centre and is fixed to the wiper motor mount. It looks like a hockey puck. Just need to unplug the connection. It's a bit fiddly as it does have a locking 'T' bar on the underside of the connector that needs to be pulled out and access to it is tight. I just used a piece of bent wire to hook it. Best to tape up the open ends of the connectors as that is a water drain channel. No error codes either if it's disconnected.
