eBay cable and software?

Guys, I switched on Coming Home/Leaving Home function whilst testing out my cable on my 8P Audi A3, which doesn't have light sensors, and it worked. Lights just come on regardless day or night. There was a separate bit function where I selected 0 for personal rather than selecting 1 for auto (which I assume would mean it uses the light sensor)

Just wondering if you checked for any other options, for your Leon? The new Mk3 platform could be completely different so I could be leading you down completely the wrong path :) But I will try and see if I did a screen shot of the option I changed after enabling CH/LH function.

Please do share if anyone gets to the bottom of this one on their Leon before I do.

I hooked my car up to VCDS and was able to enable the following :D
- Needle Sweep
- Auto Blower Speed
- Alarm Chirp
- Headlight washer, extended activation after 15 wipes
- Tried to extend CH & LH duration to 90secs but it didn't show this in the car setup menu. Still only showed 30secs, will need to revisit this next time.

I was also able to get the Auto Scan info for the Electric Mirrors for the Kerb View Function. Does anybody know which bits of information you would like me to post up so you can compare with your own reading so that you can see whether the mirror issue was fixed with a software update or a firmware update?

I also had a quick look at options for the peeps trying to get LH function to work without having Light sensors.

Seems like you cant do any coding for the Leon as I got this error:

VmkQuptS

So next I went into Adaptions section and found these options
(1)-Comfort illumination-Coming Home Verbaustatus
with possible options: not installed, manual, automatic

UAGIKGN7

(7)-Comfort illumination-Leaving-Home Verbausstatus
with possible options: not enabled, Enabled

w1EGoaP0

(8)-Comfort illumination-Menuesteurerung Leaving-home Freischaltung per BAP
with possible options: not active, active

BIuble70

Not sure if this line of thought is correct but perhaps setting Option 1 to 'Manual' might mean it doesn't use the light sensor as mine is set to 'auto' as I have the light sensor?

Also perhaps check that Option 8 is set to Active?

Just my thoughts :)

Hi Lab, sure I will get a pic of this during my lunch break later today. Just so that I can get the right info can you tell me exactly where to go please? Is it as simple as going into the Car Menu > then settings or something similar?

Could you please post the full auto-scan for this feature so I can compare with mine which was a May 2013 car (an early one).

Thanks

Hi Nokia, no probs. Would you know which part of the log I should copy and paste?
Should I paste the entire Log or everything under the 09: Cent. Elect. Section ?? Cheers

The hardware and software versions are identical to mine (wk45) no drop mirror...

Hmmmm, I guess it must be something to do with the Software/Firmware of the specific module.
Looking at the VCDS instructions to get mirror drop to work changes are made to:
52 - Door Elect, Pass. & 09 - Centr. Elect. modules so I am assuming the answer will be here!

I have just looked at my autoscan log and I dont have a read out for 52 - Door Elect, Pass. I will have to run another autoscan tonight to get it for you guys.

It looks like my VCDS looped as I have 3 sets of readouts for the following Modules:

01-Engine
03-ABS Brakes
08-Auto HVAC
09-Cent. Elect.
10-Park/Steer Assist
15-Airbags

Anyways, here are my results for 09 - Centr. Elect.:

Oh Cool, glad to hear you have got it to work :)

So I don't need to post up my logs for 52 Door Elect Pass?

Could be handy as I can't adjust mine even lower and have it return to normal like yours.

I have tried all these settings this evening and also adjusted setting (9) that read "leaving home Zeit per BAP" which I set to 30 seconds for leaving home.

It has added the option to my menu but has not illuminated any lights on unlocking. It also makes no difference if the light switch is left off or in the main beam position. (obviously have no auto position).

I am beginning to think this might not be possible to enable..

Ahh OK I see what you're saying. I have done a rescan and it has picked up all my modules. So here is my log so you can compare to see if there are any differences:

Hi

There are coding differences between mine (early car) and AJ's (newer car)

This could be to do with other tweaks AJ has made, however I've done a spreadsheet to compare coding of 09 & 52 areas which relate to the wing mirror issues, as mine and AJ's have different features, I don't have issues with it returning, but he can adjust his lower and it will return while mine won't.

Hopefully someone more familiar with coding can assist.

Thanks

Slightly off topic but do you all have the "Update Software" option as pictured in the quoted post? I don't.

Sorry to hear that you have tried out the different settings and it doesn't work, it does seem like you might be right :(

I am still trying to persist with this leaving home setting so I had another look this evening.

I noticed that even though I have made the adaption changes mentioned in the previous post, I notice that if I go into coding and look at byte 0 there are very few ticks against any of the bit numbers.

I am wondering if I need to also enable a bit number in the coding screen, however there are no lists on the screen as to what these bit numbers do.

On my Audi I could use long coding helper to enable these bits and I am sure that Byte 0 bit 5 on older Seats/Audi enabled the leaving home setting.

I am reluctant to tick these boxes as I am unsure of the consequences.
