I am still trying to persist with this leaving home setting so I had another look this evening.

I noticed that even though I have made the adaption changes mentioned in the previous post, I notice that if I go into coding and look at byte 0 there are very few ticks against any of the bit numbers.

I am wondering if I need to also enable a bit number in the coding screen, however there are no lists on the screen as to what these bit numbers do.

On my Audi I could use long coding helper to enable these bits and I am sure that Byte 0 bit 5 on older Seats/Audi enabled the leaving home setting.

I am reluctant to tick these boxes as I am unsure of the consequences.

Hi Mate, you are right about the settings on the older Audis. Check out my post #285 on previous page it has a screen grab I took of my Audi when testing out cable and there is an option for leaving home lights. But like you say as the new Leon's are new VCDS doesn't have the information to fill in the bit details when going into long coding mode so it's a bit risky enabling or disabling stuff in the coding section.

Glad you guys managed to get your cables running, my reputation on here remains intact

So the original link that rocups posted is no longer valid. The same seller has variety of cables, but the 2 most similar to the original link are:

1. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...-VAGCOM-12-12-for-audi/513228_1625249314.html

and:

2. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...-Car-Diagnostic-Cables/513228_1625245130.html

The only difference between them (on paper) is 6.ATMEGA162 & FT232RL Original Chip.

Does anyone know what it means? Does it even make a difference?

Having had a read through both It wouldn't surprise me if they are one in the same, one trying to get a selling edge on the other....but dont quote me lol

I see Terry's cable link is no longer showing either, he got a different one from rocups.

Have noticed that although I have enabled cornering fogs and the work perfectly when either turning or indicating, both don't come on in reverse is this a different coding perhaps?

Managed to enable most of the stuff posted here and in the faq guides done - thanks guys. Was lucky enough to get the Cupra lap timer and carbon display from my build week.

There was a thread on here regarding the boot pop and the tailgate lights go out Is this normal...(Yes same as mk2 leon) Since I enabled rear DLR's they now stay on when I pop the tailgate. I noticed on a A4 estate the other day they stay on during opening too so I'm assuming this is all just coding and now looking at the code to try and enable this. Not really bothered myself but some people might want it.

Same here, I was able to get the Carbon Fibre look and laptimer too and my car was built in wk50. Glad I was able to enable it :)

Can anybody point me in the right direction with regards to changing the DRL brightness when dipped beam is on please, I have looked on that German translated site and cant see it for looking. I want to check what percentage my car is set to atm, Cheers!

Mine was built 21/06/13 week 25! So I was quite pleased at that.

Ahh ok, I thought the carbon fibre and laptimer feature was disabled for cars built later as people said it didn't work for them, but glad its working on mine.

Thanks for the link, but it doesn't open for me. Is it possible to re-post please?

EDIT: Ahhh I see the URL now, before it had a load of asteriks ??? Cheers Mate, URL works :)

This is how I have mine (100% on dipped and sides rather than 35% and a 50% dim on indication):

For comparison.

Standard (35% on side, dipped and indication):

No dimming even on indication (not a smart move):

I find it works quite well. 100% on dipped and sides means you keep the nice outline and don't have the crap sidelight only bit as it's getting dark. It does not blind people because it's still not as bright as the main LEDs.

One thing this did highlight was don't drive around when it is light with your LEDs on as it's hard to make out the indicators.

Am confused with the sequence of the videos. I can't tell when the dipped are on, is it the full beam you are switching to? You don't get side lights as such with auto as the DRL strip is always on. Are the DRLs always on 100% as standard when the dipped are off?

Edit. I guess side light is when auto is off and LED strip stay on.

It's in the notes of the video but it is confusing. The sequence in all 3 is DRL then sidelights then dipped. This is then repeated with left and right indication on each. No full beam. You do get sidelights with auto, it's when it's a bit dark, the DRLs dim to 35% and the dash and tail lights come on. Yes DRL operation only is 100% as default.

You do!? Didn't know this! On my Ibiza it used to be a case of DRL or dipped beam when in Auto, which was fine as the light switch LED colours didn't distinguish between sidelights and dipped beam (in terms of whats active).

Is there anyway to tell what type of lights are active when set to Auto except for getting out and looking of course? A bit annoying if not.
