Cheers everyone! Finished the detail on the car. Had to call it quits as I spent a total of 25 hours on the car and I still got a list of 6 things that will take me easily Nether 20 hours plus on her.

Need to order some more wet and dry paper, special order Gt silver paint from Porsche to touch up a few areas and some more products to maintain the nano coating I put on the car.

It's amazing how a real detail shows the defects that to be fair I missed when I bought the car. Whatever they put on at the dealership and props to the chap who applied it done an amazing job of hiding the flaws. Although I fixed a shitload of defects on the car I want stop till things are perfect.

Update
I have completed the detail of the car. I just need to sort through the pictures and do a writeup.

Apart from the usual paint correction process I put a nice sealant on their that requires a very specific maintenance routing due to its nano properties. I also done a recolour on the drivers bolster as it was fading. Sourced some leather colouring cream for the Coca interior which matches perfectly. Finally I sources some Special order GT Silver from porsche to do some stone chip repair on front bumper which I will document and post up.

Aside from that very pleased with the car. Unfortunately or fortunately there will be no modifications required to anything. Car goes and handles like nothing else - isnt that right DK? :)

Update
Not much to report on really. Weather been so bad I haven't been driving the car much at all. Fact I only done 800 miles since I got her in August says it all really. However I must say I'd rather I have a car sitting there that I look forward to driving and get a thrill from. I was going to join the Porsche GB club where they put on various events. Problem is they want £70 a year which put me off a bit as I have no idea of the quality of them so will do some more reading into it.

I am off from mid Feb as my current contract has expired so will do a mini write up of the detail I done on her. I have been toying with getting the Porsche PSE put on the car as they sound nuts with them on. A lot of money for just back boxes effectively but i guess thats the price you pay for quality.

In other news, my Mrs Seat Ibiza is now nearly 4 years old. We are looking to change and I like the look of the mk3 Leon. I would love a new Cupra so will see how the prices go on that as this car will truly be our first car together that I am putting cash into. If she doesn't buy it I will consider a good specced FR 182bhp derv or the petrol.

:)

A lovely car in an unfamiliar seasonal back drop :( Roll on spring please...

On another note, £75 for membership to what is likely to be a well subscribed following of participants with it being Porsche, I'd personally take a stab and go along. You might meet some decent people there. Also, it might get the car out a little more. Mines done less than a 100 miles since late 2012... Shameful really... I'll look forward to your detailing write-up.

Cheers James. yea i miss good weather big time, cant drive, cant golf, cant detail...!

Yea if I get a decent contract for next job then I will take a punt. I am going to try and organise a road trip this year with few people on here to go to wales or something. About time we all went on some decent roads.

New car ordered to replace the wife's Seat Ibiza 1.6 TDI...

Seat Leon Cupra 280 5DR
Emotion Red
Leather Pack (includes Winter Pack)
SEAT Sound System
Space Saver Spare Wheel
Hard Boot Matt

:D

Nice family car to run around in. Oh and the Porsche is staying of course!

My mini review I done in another thread:
"I went and drove a new Cupra 280 DSG today as the wife wanted to look for a new family car. I have to say, what a bloody good hot hatch it was. In my opinion it definitely is a worthy replacement to mk1 shape as to me it feels special inside - it is fully loaded and has premium quality cabin. Although to be fair all mk3 have nice interior. It looks nice outside and does have enough about it compared to FR without being loud.

The different drive modes actually do make a difference which was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting something similar to PASM and Sports Chrono where the PASM go like coilover stiffness but it was more of a subtle change which I quite enjoyed. Throttle was sharper although steering weight wasnt that noticeable for the short drive I had.

In terms of speed - yes it is very quick. Not as quick as the Porsche which is to be expected as it's 80bhp down but plenty for that type of car and put a smile on my face. Proper impressed with the DSG, very much like Audi S-Tronic system however I would still rather have the manual.

It corners flat and you can see why it got a real good ring time. Just thinking back to my test drive of the Megane RS 250 I had before I bought the Audi S4 and the new cupra makes it look like a toy car. Not to put down the megane cause it is great machine but interior quality, engine wise and spec the cupra wipes the floor with it.

I absolutely love it... I am shocked by how good and special it felt. So my Mrs has buy in to purchase the car as the new family wagon."

Nice one Maz!!! You've gone the exact route I'd like to with the car choice - but I am going balls out to clear my mortgage so the car stuff is in a holding pattern for now with the Supercopa and our MCS.

Clearing mortage is always a great move! :)

Seeing as you have a big braked porsche are you going to put some Cupra r 4 pots on the front? :cartman:
