Hi,
Does the Leon have "mirror-down" when putting the car in reverse? Might need pdc?

//M

Cars built before week 24 2013 have it, but it doesn't always return to the correct level.
Cars built between week 24 and 48 have it disabled.
Cars built week 49 and later have it re-enabled after whatever fix SEAT did, and it works.

If your car is from 1 or 2 then you can enable it via VCDS but there's no guarantee that its will work.

Mine move to the left of mirror housing when I select reverse but dont tilt. Have played about with them today lowering them slightly but still don't tilt down.:thumbd:

Have you managed to sort this out? If not, and if you're car has this function, then you may just need to adjust the position of the mirror you want it to tilt to. When I collected my car and put it in reverse the mirror tilted upwards! l guess it the position the mirror was set when it left the factory, lol.

If you wanna try changing the position of the mirror let me know and I will post instructions :)

I'd be interested! Didn't know you could change it!

Hi Andy, here are the instructions to amend the angle of the tilt for the function for UK spec cars:

- Select L position on mirror controller
- Engage reverse gear
- After mirror has finished tilting/moving, use the electric mirror switch to move the mirror to the new desired position.
- Disengage reverse gear.

Next time you put it into reverse it will lower to the new position. Give this a try and see if it fixes your issue

Hope that helps mate :)

Sorry to bring this up again, but I am just trying to set this up on my new Leon ST (collected on Friday from the dealers and lovin it so far...)

I can get the Left Mirror to auto tilt using when the switch is in the L position and have managed to set the position to where I want it.

However when I take the car out of reverse the mirror does not automatically return to the driving position. I have to turn the switch to the centre position for this to happen.

From what I can work out I need to centre the switch once I am done reversing and then turn to L again ready for next time.

Does this sound right or am I doing something wrong?

The mirror should return to th enormal position when you drive off and go over a certain speed.

I asked the dealer about this too and he told me it would raise automatically once I reached 15mph. Does most of the time but always goes back to a lower position than I had it at. Not quite annoyed me enough to take it back to the dealer, not quite......

Early build cars and those enabled via vcds do that. That's why the feature was taken off whilst they sorted it.

Still be interested to know what the fix actually was if anyone knows, esp from people who have early cars and enquired with their dealer.

Can't believe its dodgy hardware as this function has been on all VAG cars for years, and sometime on the Leon it does work.

Guess there is a software glitch somewhere (somehow) that should be an easy fix/firmware update etc.

I dont get anything on mine.. doesn't dip even after i set it on L. Must be the build that had it disabled. At least the synced mirrors work that was always handy on my mk2.

Hey Chris,

Glad your liking your new car :)

Also to add on to what Terry wrote, the other scenario the mirrors will go back up is if you leave the switch in L position and then switch the engine off.

Cheers AJ, yep liking the car for sure. Pleased with the choices I made while managing to reduce monthly payments over the Exeo ST that I had before. And there are a lot of nice little functions like the mirror down too.

The mirror reverting back does also work, as you said, with the switch in L and switching the engine off.

Nice work lads on this and so many other useful threads. Got loads saved away in my favourites so that I can find them easily.
