Cheers for the info Jcbmally!

The car didn't feel particularly fast compared to the Scirocco but it felt planted which is nice too, it reminded me of my old 2000 BMW 530i a bit in terms of overall feel to the drive. I may well get it remapped anyway and now I've read on here there's the Quantum company in Swindon (where I'm from) it may sway me even more! I'd had an old Grande Punto done at Red Dot Racing with their rolling road and it had 184bhp and 300lbs of torque after the map which was extremely potent in a 1250kg car! :)

Many owners have carried out a remap with good results, so I'm sure you will see a difference regards power and mpg. Like I said the Exeo is a great car but the short journey for me was a factor. Plus I must be having a mid life crises cause I had to have the new Leon FR.

PS: If you car hasn't got mud flaps then check theses out, I got them for mine and they were as good as OEM at a 3rd of the price. If the link doesn't work then item number is 251614919123

Edit* in reply to Asonda:

Yeah, it was the first thing I noticed as I started to maneuver out of the car park, didn't seem right to me to be that noisy. It's still under manufacturers warranty being on a 62 plate but it seems like a lot of hassle to have a rack replaced! I was given assurances by the garage (part of a big franchised chain of dealers) that everything would be checked over and anything "off" fixed before I collect - I'm pretty sure that means they'll wash the car and hand me the keys though... I'm not the trusting type!

I think I'll give them a call on Monday and highlight the points that concern me and insist they're checked over, for what good it'll do! They'd already said kerbed alloys would be fixed up and a minor mark on the rear bumper sorted (before I even noticed or mentioned them) but that could just be empty promises and I didn't get the impression the salesman was the "get things done" type. I've asked for a stone chip right in the driver's line of sight to be fixed and for the missing cigarette lighter to be replaced so if those things are done I'll presume they at least listen...

@jcbmally, cheers! I'll take a look. :)
