Scarabeo on the other thread was quoted :

SD Card Navigation Update – Part number is 5F0 919 866 F, at a RRP of £81.20, plus VAT."

So that comes out at £97.44 GBP just for the card

Not sure what you would be charged to have it coded by a dealer.

yeah. also to be fair, updated maps are not worth £100 in IMO. for what it does already on v4 maps for me is fine. prefer to use google maps to the rubbish satnav system in the car, but its useful in some situations.

Hi,

Been reading this thread with great interest to see how I'd go about updating my 2014 Leon Sat Nav to the latest maps.

I just did a google search, and found the following link, which is the same company as the beginning of this thread, but is for Seat not VW or Skoda.

http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/-/-/-/View-Promo?cwt=application/ApplicationFrame_campaign_light&Page=SEAT_Landing&NewDomainName=Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site&utm_campaign=homepage-logos&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=homepage-seat&HideCrumb=true

Have I missed something ?? Because this site tells you what you have to do with your SD card to make it work.... I'm currently downloading the latest data file, and will carry out an update on my car.

Did you chose Navi System or Navi System Plus?

Don't do that unless you have MapCare! Free updates work only for people who have purchased MapCare option. That option allows free updates to be installed for three years. If you don't have it, the update won't work. You can try of course but make sure you backup your existing maps otherwise you will lose them.

If you don't have MapCare then you could have problems with your card and Seat will charge you full price for another !!!

Do UK customers get the choice of mapcare?
I thought SEAT UK had left us out with this option even though the rest of europe can specify it?

It will only work with Map care and we in the UK don't get it :(

After reading that article it would be nice to know how he updated the maps himself. At least it points towards that it can be done.

I suspect this maybe as he has an MY16 model. Worth while knowing for sure....

So the website has 'Seat Navi System' and 'Seat Navi System Plus'. The former has 6 parts and the later 12. My reasoning, may be wrong, is that the newer system or Nav High is the Plus and the older is not. Happy to be corrected on that though if anyone knows for sure ....

Although the guy evidently missed the link to download the whole thing in one file ....

Having looked at the instructions for each page, they are somewhat different. The 'Seat Navi System' instructions mention MapCare and how you shouldn't follow the process unless you have it and the Plus system instructions don't mention MapCare at all.

So it seems the later 'High' systems on MY16 cars do not require MapCare and the update can be done yourself, whereas the earlier pre-MY16 requires MapCare.

Not sure where you stand if you have a pre-MY16 with High though....
