Just wondering what's the best upgrade for the front brakes is out there.

I've read on here its not using the standard Cupra wheels, so you'd need to put some after market wheels on too.

Ahh of course I forgot that bit, but chances are if you want a decent 4 pot brake upgrade you'll need spacers or different wheels anyway.

So why not the Sub8 brakes and spacers? I'm lucky enough to have got the sub8 wheels if not the Sub8 pack.

Very nice but they are going to need to be very warm before working properly surely.

And yes I can confirm spacers needed with OEM wheels to fit bigger brakes.

So the sub8 pack has bigger wheels (20 inch) so it can fit the brenbos?

No the sub8 has 19" wheels.

As said it has 19" wheels but they are different wheels. the OEM original Cupra 280 wheels wont fit big brakes behind them.

Had a look at a Sub 8 pack Cupra in dealers, and even with the different wheels the calipers are still VERY close....

In pictures I always preferred the original wheels, but in the flesh I preferred the Sub8 wheels. Just as well as that's what the car had been speced with. No Brembos though

Are the new brembos unique to the Leon or are they on any other car for example the toureg or Audi Q7

Cupra Brembo's aren't unique they are common in Audi models.

Had a look at a Sub 8 pack Cupra in dealers, and even with the different wheels the calipers are still VERY close....

My brakes are still close even with spacers. get a stone stuck in there and your caliper will be a mess

I'd of thought the sub 8 brakes would be the same caliper as the TTRS brembo's,you can buy the reconned calipers on eBay in any colour for £350

I'm sure the likes of AKS tuning will make a carrier to suit the golf R which will fit the seat then it's probably just a case of fitting the correct spacers

I think the brakes from the Q series will have the wrong size Pistons vs master cylinder .

DaveB on the mk5gti forum is the brake guru. He's posted a lot of info on the matter
