You do realise you can turn the screen off completely after 'x' seconds of inactivity? It's a good setting let down by the fact that it isn't persistent, you need to enable it every time you restart the car.

Another good idea let down by crazy software. Man this system is so buggy.

Yes, I've had the "you are in Germany" issue. If you look on the right side of the screen about halfway up , there is a button ( normally greyed out) that shows a car from above with an arrow pointing in wards on all four sides. Touch that and after a few seconds it should return to normal.

You will almost certainly be in wolfsburg. Vw headquarters. Maybe its an early version of the defear device as fitted to VAG cars.

Yep, it's Wolfsburg. Or somewhere near there. Probably production managers front garden. Perhaps its VAG's way of reminding you that , whilst your car may be built in Spain, its by a German owned company. ;)

Oh well. I'll leave it to the Americans to remind them that they're not as clever with software as they think they are.

Anyone else's nav default to 2D map when turned on even though 3D is selected? Quite irritating and happens 1/10 times.

Hi all, first time poster here :D.

One bugbear of mine is the car doesn't always pick up a plugged in USB stick. I can have music playing one minute, pop out the car for two mins, restart the car when I get back and have to take out and plug back in the USB stick as the car doesn't always recognise it.

Apart from that, I have no complaints about anything else, great car (Leon FR 150).

Mine defaults to Wolfsburg if I'm following a Nav route and switch the the Traffic screen and then switch back to Nav. I just press the birds-eye view of the car and it returns me back to my original route/location.

TBH it's not a perfect system but it's never failed me in the sense of what a Sat Nav should do and it's even worked pretty well using the dynamic routes, diverting me around some major road closures.

That reminds me, when i get into the car sometimes the media system takes atleast a couple of minutes before it recognises my ipod and other times it'll load exactly what was last being played straight away regardless of how long I'd been away from the car. Weird.

It's under Route options within the Nav setup. Dynamic route and also the option to see different route options - fastest, shortest and how long?! :)

Yeah, I've accidentally hit the scenic option a couple of times. It's not kidding by the way, any more scenic and you'd need a tractor.

Which reminds me of another grip. The legends for the three route options, why can't they just use words? I can never remember what they mean. And once you've picked a route you can't change it.

Its easy, red for fastest!
