Never done a whole car loom swap like this but all I can say is best of luck because it’s going to be a big job. Mines stripped out for track and I’ve deleted as much loom as possible and there’s still a lot!!

Which loom exactly, the main one that runs back through the nearside firewall behind the glovebox?

I had the gromet for the bonnet catch missing so i belive water has gone straight down on to what is plate a
section holding 5 or 6 plugs

You can't just take the loom out. You need to unholy and remove the bulk head where the wiring passes threw on the left hand side the loom is to big and the plugs won't pass threw the hole

You can remove the full car harness and the plugs do pass through that hole if you're very meticulous about the order you pull them back but **** me it's a huge task, I'm speaking from experience as well.

The main harness that goes along the nearside chassis leg essentially goes right back along behind the dashboard and around the entirety of the car right back to the number plate lights.

Only real substantial loom that is separate is the engine loom which goes from each sensor back up to the ECU then back along the scuttle to the coloured plug board you're talking about.

I am only asking as i havnt tryed this before and just from looking i assumed that the plug from ecu into car was just the case of unplugging and pulling through to then remove the rest of plugs from inside the back of dash.
No one i know around will tackle the car as they all belive its the ecu at fault but i belive its where the water has gone in plugs and into wires below the dash.
