Mine was similar this morning and it flashed up `low battery` as well.

Poor thing has gone from 20,000 miles a year to about 1000.

Might have to consider a trickle charge (need to search the forum about that).
Haha yes same as mine - from 18K to 'shopping trips and occasional school runs!' Definitely not good for cars to only be use once a week.

I also watched the original video mentioned and almost ordered the parts, however mine is a CUPA engine code and doesn't have VVT.

I've recently taken mine to my local garage to have this looked at, they found no issues with the car but mentioned the OE battery could be the cause, as it's 6 years old now. They also updated the cars software so hopefully this makes an improvement but time will tell.

With the key in the ignition but not turned, close the doors and hold the trip button until it says battery charge, release button and see if you get a percentage.

Did you find the problem of long crank? Ive been dealing with it about a year in my golf 7 1.6 tdi 105 bhp. No vcds errors! Some say it starter, others to replace valve fuel part number 5q0127242b.
Here my not so long crank on vcds scan
no idea if everything is fine.
