Did you manage to get it back in place? If so, could you explain a bit how to do it. I replaced mine a few weeks back and just put the tube back in somewhere.
Finally got round to doing it,

So undo the screw at the bottom and side holding the wheel liner in place

Then you will find the plastic pipe feed it down to the cut out section as you can see in below picture, tighten up all screws and job done, Even did a little bit of cleaning whilst i was in there.

Not very exciting.. but swapped my non-functioning floppy driver-side mirror for a new fully functional scrapyard one: folding and heating functions now fully restored!

Also while I was there I replaced most of the door trim clips I broke a few months ago swapping out the non-functional window buttons! (At least it meant getting the door card off this time was super easy!)

Notable only for the fact that everything went as it should which is very unusual for me and my car DIY efforts (usually there's a stuck bolt or something breaks that shouldn't!).

What a great upgrade going from 6.5" to 8" facelift screen... The fit needs some fine tuning, half a MM here and there but I'm happy with the result. Stripped it for a good clean before fitting.

As I've fitted a late 887A MIB2 unit too, no issues with setting the correct resolution etc.

Hopefully have the chance to do Virtual Clocks before the end of summer, if I find the right set close to my mileage. Or maybe just plump up the wonga for a new set and set the mileage myself.

Finally got the 30 colours coded, wasn't as easy as first thought.
Also changed the throttle response.

At first I was also stoked about having 30 rainbow colors (with one white extra), but after some testing a lot of colors looked the same. Currently I've got 12 which are pretty distinct from each other.

Here is my configuration if anyone is interested. White and violet must have different LIN values than display RGB values due to inconsistent brightness of diodes (red is brighter than blue, blue is brighter than green).
